Breathtaking Pilanesberg Safari: JHB Big 5 Full-Day Tour

Booked the Full Day Exquisite Safari from Johannesburg...it was the perfect beginning to our adventures in Africa! Jason took care of everything for us. Our pickup and hotel drop-off was seamless and on time. The van was comfortable, the driving superb, and Jason's commentary was both thoughtful and helpful. The safari was amazing - we saw 3 of the Big 5 (lions, elephants, rhinos) as well as zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, hippos, impala, and kudu. And don't get me started about the many beautiful birds! Two game drives and lunch as well as all travel was included...the experience was reasonably-priced and extremely valuable!

Jason was from the start very attentive with our booking. Our pick up at the hotel went smoothly and on time. On our way to Pilanesberg he gave us information about our sight seeing. I would definitely recommend them.

We had a fabulous day from the time Jason picked us up at our hotel. We had an interesting and informative drive to the park where we met our guide, Elvis. Elvis then provided passion and enthusiasm for the park, the animals, and vegetation. We could not have asked for more and highly recommend this tour.

The Pilanesberg Safari was an excellent experience and highly recommended. Jason was waiting for us for a 5:30am pickup from our hotel in Johannesburg to Pilanesberg and provided very informative details about the park and points of interest during the drive. In the Park, we had James as our driver. We had around 5 hours on the safari through the park and managed to see all of the Big 5. James was also knowledgeable and friendly . It’s a long day (over 12 hours) but it is well worth the experience of seeing numerous animals in a natural habitat

Another perfect day with Jason! While on a different tour the prior day, I received a message from a different tour company that the full day safari I had booked for the next was cancelled because they overbooked. We were so disappointed because that was the only day we could do Pilanesberg. We asked Jason if he was free tomorrow and within minutes of dropping us off he was able to confirm he could take us. The safari was everything we hoped for! It was a warm day but the open air Jeep had a lovely breeze that kept us cool. Our guide in Pilanesberg, Charles, was incredibly knowledgeable, patient and clearly wanted us to have a perfect day, stopping for pictures, letting us shop after lunch. The morning tour was longer than the afternoon. After several hours spending time with the rhinos, zebras and elephants, we stop for lunch in the middle of the park around 12. Then we began the afternoon safari around 1 and we back a little after 3. Highly recommend Pilanesberg! Yes, there will be periods where you don't see animals (the park is the size of Singapore) but when you encounter them, the experience is life-changing!

The trip was well worth it! From pick up to drop off the experience was above expectations. Jason was punctual from the beginning, he took the time to educate us about the towns we passed along the way. Spacious seating to catch a nap there and back was much appreciated! The tour was great although we didn’t see the big 5 considering the rain, our guide BK was knowledgeable and really put in an effort to make sure we got good pictures and a little education too. All in all it was a day well spent and worth the value. Bottom line: yes, I would go again! Thank you Jason and Deeprift Ventours for this amazing trip hope to see you in the future!

The safari in Pilanesberg was really wonderful and I saw many animals from closeby. You will have a chance to see many birds, lions, rhinos, impalas, leopards, elephants, zebras, giraffes and more. I would defintely recommend…
