Johannesburg: Transformative Soweto & Apartheid Journey

I enjoyed both museums. My tour guide Tshepo was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of South Africa. I especially appreciated the slum tour at the end where the children were so sweet.

I was only in Johannesburg for 1 day, unfortunately, and this your was the best choice to make the most of it. Tinyiko was very knowledgeable and professional, he provided lots of insights from a local perspective. The Apartheid museum is a must. Lunch in Soweto was also really great and good fun. I will definitely use MoAfrika on my next trip to S.A.

The Soweto tour was a enlightening and humbling. Our guide, Thomas, was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our related questions. Lunch was DELICIOUS!!!

A Great way to get an overall feel of Johannesburg, and understand the History of colonisation, and the apartheid and struggle for freedom! The guide, Clement, was excellent- knowledgeable and constantly educating us on all relevant aspects! IPick up was prompt and communication was excellent. It turned out to be a private tour, so was flexible in terms of amount of time we wanted to spend at each location. ! The visit to Soweto was also an eye opener, seeing the well established prosperous homes on the one side, and the temporary structures on the other. We were also taken to a kindergarten in Soweto which was very interesting….Mandela House, and the Apartheid museum etc are also a must! We felt safe and well looked after at all times! Overall an educational experience and a great way of seeing Johannesburg!

It was a great experience. Mr Lebo, my tour guide is cool, professional, and very knowledgeable. He has given a nice overview of all the places we visited.

The places visited were really an eye opener for people who came to Johannesburg/ South Africa for the first time. The tour guide ( Lebo ) was an excellent story teller about the history of South Africa as a nation. He was professional and very knowledgeable which was a great help because the day the tour was conducted there were many road closures due to the G20 was held on the same day. However, Lebo managed to find his way to ensure that we followed the itinerary and not missed any place as planned.

A wonderful tour of Johannesburg and Soweto. A look into the history of south-africa and the way forward. Khutso our driver was very good-hearted and had so much knowledge. It is a must if you visit Johannesburg!

I had an amazing time on this tour. It's a full day tour of Soweto, Hector Pierson museum and the Apartheid museum. The guide from MoAfrika picked me up on time, was very friendly and knowledgable as we went along the different locations. He also made sure we were comfortable and was patient with all our questions. He stayed with us the whole day. There weren't too many people in the museums which was quite nice as it allowed us to go through everything at a good pace. All in all I had an amazing time! 10/10 would recommmend
