The director was very friendly & extremely helpful. The organization of the material/ artifacts created a time line from the start to when the survivors were rescued. A quaint but beautiful museum. A must see.

Wow! One of the most personally touching museums we've visited in the World. Real, raw, memorable. Thank you citizens of Uruguay! Thank you for sharing this historic tragedy. Our hearts go out to you!

This museum is about a 20 minute walk from the cruise terminal located near independence square. The museum tickets were $8 US per person. It opens Mon-Fri 10:00-17:00 and Sat 10:00-15:00. There is a cold simulator that you can experience that you endure for 72 seconds at minus 20 degrees Celsius. There are lots of exhibits over three floors and the exhibit descriptions are in both Spanish and English. An excellent museum and just shows the human instinct for survival. A must do when in Montevideo.

Well curated and informative museum. Story told by survivors. The cold chamber was a good addition. Lots of artefacts. Amazing survival story.

An incredibly moving and beautiful experience. To see items such as the expeditionaries' makeshift mittens, Roy Harley's radio, Coco Nicolich's letters, and photos of Liliana Methol with her children is an incredibly humbling experience that drives home just how brave, intelligent, thoughtful and loving the passengers of Flight 571 were. I highly recommend this museum to everyone traveling through Montevideo.

This museum is definitely worth seeing. It shows just how strong the human instinct for survival is. The staff are very kind and polite. Paying in cash might be easier.

Heart wrenching to see what they had to endure and overcome. To survive in such harsh conditions with nowhere near enough supplies is mind blowing.

Super interesting museum. Tells you everything and makes you aware how it must have been for the survivors of the crash that time. The owner of the museum is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to!

Very interesting place with items and story parts I had not heard about. If you are in the area go. It is small but good value

This museum is great. The best kept secret, none of the guidebooks mention it, and we discovered it accidentally from a brochure in the tourist office in the old town. It takes a good 2- 3 hours to see and read everything, which we voraciously did. I had read the book when it came out 30 -40 years ago, and it inspired me to re-order and read it again, and to watch the new (netflix?) movie.
