My husband and I enjoyed the city tour. Our tour guide and bus driver started the journey to a neighbourhood hill overlooking the whole city. Saw a large cruise ship arrived to the port. Next, we walked to several places starting with: 1) Amber Museum - It was a learning opportunity to learn about Amber, the Dominican National Stone. Larimar stone - Blue Amber. A rarest gemstone exclusively found in DR. 2) Souvenir Shops 3) Tobacco and Cigar Factory - Learned about the steps and processes of cigar production. The tour guide showed us the whole facility. Offered free cigar samples. 4) Umbrella Street and Dominican Cafe - This street was quite vibrant with rainbow coloured umbrellas. Lots of restaurants and cafes. Many tourists here, of course. 5) Paseo de Dona Blanca - Puerto Plata’s Pink Street. It was ‘pretty in pink!’ 💞🌸💐 6) Peurto Plata Centre Square 7) Fortaleza de San Felipe - A large fortress in Puerto Plata. Very beautiful area overlooking the ocean. Our last stop of the tour was the Coffee and Chocolate Factory. We also had a lunch buffet. Everything was delicious! Had the opportunity to sample cacao pieces, coffee, and different rum flavours. The factory produced all the cacao, coffee, and rum manually. Saw different types of cacao trees all over their garden along with many fruit trees. Some things we encountered on our walk through the city: - Need to stay alert with the Souvenir Shops. Same product would varied in price. - It is best to stay close with your tour guide and group while walking Pink Street. It’s overly-crowded. Likewise with Umbrella Street. I wish we spend more time at the square taking pictures and grabbing drinks or snacks. We only had about 15 mins. We missed visiting Isabel de Torres National Park (located at the mountain top). The Cable Car is currently out of service. I would recommend the Puerto Plata City Tours to anyone who is travelling there for the first time. It was a great experience! Our resort was very close to downtown, 30-45mins walk, or 15 mins taxi ride. They do not have a hop-on/off city bus in Puerto Plata.

This was my first time to Puerto Plata and this tour was the perfect way to see the area. I was picked up at 815am and after one stop to pick up guests, it was up the mountain that overlooks the city. Beautiful sight and many trails to walk. our guide, Demetrio, was excellent. our driver, Fioricel, did an super job of manipulating the curvy roads up the mountain. Our next stop was the downtown area to explore Pink Street, Umbrella Street and the plaza. There was time for shopping and even grabbing an empanada nearby. Next was the Amber museum and the famous Fort near the water. Lunch was included and then we topped it off with a visit to the Chocolate Factory. I almost forgot to mention the Rum Factory tour where we sampled 7 different kinds of rum. As our group was only 7 people, we all became good friends over this libation!! I was dropped off at 4 pm and I highly recommend this tour. You see so much, and learn even more about the history of this great city. Give it a try, no regrets only lasting memories thanks to great tour guide and our driver.

I was a lone traveller this time and Floricel and our driver Demetrio took care of me. They also had a great sense of humour and they were very respectful and I felt secure and safe. I recommend this trip ❤️

I wasn’t sure what to expect and quite frankly wasn’t too excited but this tour is anything but boring! Jose made this a great experience. He is very knowledgeable and friendly! Our driver was Manuel. They unexpectedly provided water, coke, and sprite on the air conditioned bus too! There’s a perfect mix of history, shopping, and experiencing the local culture. But above all, the Monkeyland experience was awesome! We’ve done a monkey/sloth excursion before but this one was so much better. The environment is laid back and quiet and you get so much time with them. Mario was very informative and took extra time to answer any questions. But it doesn’t end there. Then you get to experience what a local house/kitchen is like and sample mamajuana (drink) and hot chocolate. They also have all the native fruit and vegetable trees/plants to look at. We never felt unsafe. Overall a wonderful experience.

We booked this tour through carnival. It was a tour of Puerta Plata and Monkeyland combo. I took my mom 67 and 2 kids ages 8 and 11. It was the highlight of our trip. Seeing umbrella street and tasting the local coffee and hot cocoa. Learning about their culture and imports/exports was very interesting. We did a little shopping, eating, tasting. We had enough time to take picrures. The kids really enjoyed the city and loved monkeyland. Our tour guide Jose Rojas were great and driver Danny was very helpful and friendly. We would recommend the tour if you want to see a little taste of culture instead of sitting around getting burnt and fat.

We absolutely loved our tour of Puerto Plata with Runners Adventures! A huge thank you to our guide José Roja, who was amazing, and our driver Juan Bomba, who looks just like Morgan Freeman! Their professionalism, great energy, and attention to detail made us feel like we were on a VIP excursion. The atmosphere was warm, almost like family, and we truly enjoyed every moment. An unforgettable experience that we highly recommend to anyone visiting the area! Thank you again to the entire team!

Started the day off driving to the top of Mt Isabel de Torres which had spectacular views of peurto Plata city and wondered around the beautiful park up there. After that we headed down the Mt to the Macroix rum factory where we all became a liittle bit happy lol numerous rum tastings which was fun, now off to city centre where we did some shopping , umbrella street, pink street, amber and cigar museum and more walking around enjoying the sights, head on over to have a lunch provided by the tour operators which was satisfying, for dessert we headed to Del Oro chocolate factory where you will be greeted with the delicious smell of chocolate as you enter the doorway. Sampled and had a little tour of how the whole process takes place (yummy). Had to buy a bunch before leaving . To finish off the tour we headed to Fortaleza de san Felipe and explored it and watched the cruise ships come and go . It was a great experience and have to give credit to our great driver, Diego bus 29 and awesome and informative tour guy Batael I believe that’s how you spell it. It was great experience and highly recommend

My wife and were so blessed to have Tour Guide Leo show us the City. Leo’s concern for all of to learn about the City exceeded our expectations. Invited us to continually ask questions and explained about unique trees, statues and each building from the old Discotheque, to the Mayor’s Residence, the Beautiful Catholic Church and much more. Allowed everyone ample time to explore, shop and sample items at each store in the City. Budgeted the time so we weren’t rushed and still allowed us to see everything he told us about at the start of the tour. A true professional in every respect. Another true professional we were privileged to meet, was our driver Pedro. His skilled driving techniques made the tour safe and smooth. His parking skills when parking and getting out of some tight parking spaces kept the tour on schedule and along with Leo’s leadership with our group, got us back to our drop off point with plenty of time to spare. Our sincerest thanks to both of these professionals for making our tour an enjoyable experience and one we’ll definitely remember for quite some time. Your Tour Company should be proud of these gentlemen and thankful to have 2 Employees that work so diligently to make a successful and safe tour for your customers. Since thanks! The city tour was fun and very informative. Rafael made the experience so much better. We got to shop around local shops in Puerto Plata and sample some Mama Juana. But of course, the best part of the experience had to be the monkeys at Monkeyland! They made sure we got photos taken by them but also allowed us to take our own with our phones which is incredible compared to a lot of other excursions I’ve done. Overall an amazing experience and highly recommend going.
