At the outset I’d like to commend Yolande for ensuring our late booking went well. She was professional & very accommodating. Our tour guide Patrick Jolly was amazing. From the moment we stepped into his vehicle our experience began in earnest. His vast knowledge of the area is absolutely mind boggling & there wasn’t a moments hesitation in answering all of our many questions. The trip itself was an incredible experience with dramatic views up the rugged Sani pass.( I don’t know how the guides manage these up & downs 8 x a week)😂😂without kidney belts. We had a lovely relaxed lunch at the highest pub in Africa with a delicious glass of wine & an ice cold Maluti beer. Thereafter to the Basuto village & a warmly greeted visit to the homestead of Agnes where the white flag indicated a freshly baked pot bread.Traditional hats & memorabilia were available to purchase..as well as photo opportunities with the dancing village people. There are many little kids running around so would suggest taking lots of sweets to make THEIR day that little bit more special. An incredible experience that shouldn’t be missed.

An extraordinary and exceptional journey with Major Adventures into Lesotho - Highest Pub in Africa Day Trip - 22/01/2025 I would like to express my profound appreciation to Gardi Major and Donna Roux for accommodating us (4 adults) even though they were fully booked. They went over and above their line of duty to accommodate us, which is truly remarkable. Our guide Alan was well acquainted and knowledgeable in the history of the Basotho people and how the Basotho tribe lived and their lifestyle. All the way from Underberg to Lesotho, Alan kept us appraised of the history of the Basotho tribe and the mountains, etc. Alan was very experienced, cautious, and circumspect when driving up and down the mountain. Quite interestingly, the Basotho tribe baked their white wheat bread in a flat cast iron pot below the ground using coal from cow dung. It was fresh, crispy and appetizing. The views and the scenery from the mountain and the Highest Pub were phenomenal, breathtaking, magnificent and stunning. Our trip from the beginning to the end was amazing and exceeded our expectations. The ride on the gravel/dirt road was bumpy and rugged but worth the trip. Once again, many thanks, to Gardi, Donna and Alan in making our trip a memorable and unforgettable adventure. A trip to the Kingdom of Lesotho and the Highest Pub in Africa is highly recommended. We had an out of this world experience at Sani Pas. The guide, I think his name was Elias was a former game ranger and his knowledge of the.geology of the Drakensberg, the stories he shared and his hearty laugh made our day. He treated us with extra care, took photos and brought insights into Lesotho we never had. This is a very worthwhile.gift to yourself, have your cameras charged and ready. He also drove calmly and always.made us feel safe.

Be prepared for a very bumpy ride but its worth it. The road itself is like a black ski run, but in a jeep. Alan our guide was friendly and reasonably informative.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Major Adventures for an unforgettable journey—one that I hadn’t even dared to imagine conquering. Heights have always been my Achilles’ heel, yet that fear has now been defeated, thanks to the incredible tour guide, Elois. Elois’s reassuring presence put all my apprehensions at ease. The history of Lesotho unfolded before us, captivating and intriguing. Did you know that their distinctive hats are shaped like mountains? As we explored, the taste of freshly baked bread lingered on our tongues—a delightful treat for the senses. While photos and videos can capture moments, there’s nothing quite like experiencing the journey firsthand. The thrill of being there, surrounded by the rugged beauty of Lesotho, is an absolute must. And let’s not forget the amazing group of fellow travellers who made this adventure even more memorable. In the end, the shared laughter, the awe-inspiring landscapes, and the camaraderie that etch these memories into our hearts. Major Adventures, you’ve left an indelible mark on my soul. Until our next escapade!" 🌄📸🌟 Love and light Sharene Wright

Sonya Caldecott organized my trip with Major Adventures for me as it was my birthday, a cake was provided and that was very special to me. Thank you my friend. Our guide Alan was amazing with the knowledge he shared, a very careful driver and took care of going through the borders with no fuss. Gorgeous views, met strangers and we soon became friends, memories to treasure forever.

Major Adventures provided one of the highlights of a recent round the world cruise, with 29 ports where I and friends (up to 46 of us) did tours with local operators. In each port I read scores of reviews, to find the best tour operator, and Major Adventures is the one in Durban if you have time to do their day tour to Sani Pass and Lesotho. Because of the distance and timing, we overnighted after the tour in Durban, and rejoined the ship in Cape Town. We were five friends, one in a wheelchair, which was not a problem at any stage. Donna was our superb organizer, and Elliot was our remarkable guide. Donna expertly organized our transfer from the ship to Underberg and back to Durban ... Hemendra was our driver, and he too was excellent. I am fortunate to have visited 89 countries, and this day trip to Sani Pass is world class. The dirt track up the pass, the views, the fascinating country of Lesotho, the commentary from Elliot, who has 19 years in his role ... all excellent. Especially memorable was our visit with a gracious host in her rondavel ... the delicious, hot bread she served ... a score of shepherds singing/chanting to us just outside ... lunch and libations at the Highest Pub in Africa. Wow, what a day.

My family (6 adults) booked the Sani day trip and our expectations were exceeded in every way. Gardi was very accommodating and the process was seamless. Our guide, Elias, however, was truly the star of the show. His knowledge of the flora, fauna, history, and geography is faultless - he certainly brought Sani Pass to life for all of us. Additionally, he is a remarkable driver - we felt completely safe in his capable hands.
