Unforgettable Valencia: Old Town Wine & Tapas in 11th Century Gem

Our tour guide was pleasant and clearly tried her best, but I think the company could improve by conducting a more thorough one-on-one assessment before assigning guides. She seemed rather laid-back and lacked the energy and enthusiasm that usually make a local tour engaging and memorable. Since she isn’t from Valencia, she might benefit from additional training — reading more about the city’s rich history and culture, and learning how to deliver her lines in a more enthusiastic and lively manner. Her voice was very soft, and at times it was hard to stay engaged; the presentation needed more pep and energy to bring the stories to life. One moment that stood out was when I asked where to buy good jamón in the market, and she honestly said she didn’t know. This reinforced my impression that guides should be more familiar with local specialties before leading a food tour. The food itself was average. For the price, you can easily find better food experiences elsewhere in Valencia, especially since this was partly a tapas tour where higher standards are expected. I hesitated to write this review because I understand she’s likely new, but I hope this feedback helps the company provide more training so future guests can experience the true zest, warmth, and passion that Spaniards are known for.

Dani was excellent; knowledgeable and friendly. The food and the wine were good and in an open table made it easy to meet other people from other countries.

Excellent historical tour of old city. Wine tasting was.fun! Martha was well versed in Valencia's Roman past.

Wonderful tour being led by Emily round Valencia old town. Friendly and informative small group tour and really good communication before about meeting point. After being led round to lots of the historic buildings we were then taken to a beautiful location where we had delicious wines and tapas. Overall a wonderful experience, many thanks to Emily.

It was a walk through the main areas of Valencia. The tour ended with a sampling of foods in a charming courtyard setting. I was stuffed by the end of the meal!

Great first night in Valencia. Mimi our guide was excellent throughout. Had a fantastic dinner after the walking tour at their private venue with every tapas and matching wine pairing very well explained by Mimi. Very enjoyable evening and would highly recommend.

This walking/food tour combo was an absolute highlight of our time in Valencia and the meal was one of our favorites from our entire trip to Spain! Iain was a great guide and host and we thoroughly enjoyed connecting with other travelers during the meal. It was down pouring during the walking portion of our tour, but Iain was such a good sport about it and tried to find dry spots for us to stand as much as possible. We felt we got a good sampling of local cuisine through the food tour and every single tapas was delicious! As a vegetarian I also appreciated how the tour was adapted to make sure I could still partake in all the food options. Strongly recommend checking out this food tour if you are coming to Valencia!!!

Martha was an outstanding guide and hostess. She provided so much great information on Valencia and the history, and then hosted us with wine, appetizers, and tapas. It was a perfect day!! The wine and food was delicioso!! Thanks you Martha for a great day!!
