Great experience. More difficult than expected, ended up renting a horse, best decision to really enjoy the experience.

Couldn't understand the guide's English. Trip down was dangerous in the dark with a really rough trail. One woman fell three times.

Everything was amazing with this tour. Pickup from the hotel was on time, the driver was friendly, and the ride to the starting point went smoothly. Our tour guide was professional and informative. The hike itself was beautiful but could be difficult for beginner hikers. They have people on horses following you in case you need a ride at any point during the hike up. Marshmallows were included which was a nice touch. The pizza is slightly pricey but worth the experience. Truly an unforgettable adventure!

Such a great experience! Guide was friendly and informative, seamless pickup/drop off, and they were super flexible when my flight into Guatemala was cancelled and I had to shift my hike to another day.

Our Pacaya Volcano hike was an incredible experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Guatemala! The hike was well-organized, and our guide was fantastic—he was very attentive, making sure everyone stayed together and felt comfortable throughout the journey. We opted to use the horses, which are available for an additional cost each way (both going up and coming down). The guides assisting with the horses were extremely helpful and made the ride enjoyable and safe. Once we reached the top, we had the unique opportunity to roast marshmallows over the volcanic heat—an unforgettable experience! We also ordered fresh pizza that was cooked nearby and enjoyed it with a breathtaking view. This was truly a great adventure filled with fun, beautiful scenery, and unforgettable memories. Highly recommend the Pacaya hike to anyone visiting Guatemala!

Was truly a different experience for me... in a good way ☺️ The tour guide was really helpful since the hike was NO JOKE and waited for me while I catch my breath! The views at the top was definitely WORTH IT!! Would definitely recommend.

Incredible experience! As a self-proclaimed ‘lazy American,’ there was no way I was hiking up the mountain on foot—so I opted for the horse (300 GTQ one way). Totally worth it! The walk down wasn’t too bad. Be sure to reserve your pizza in advance—it’s a delicious reward after the hike. Our guide, Elvin, was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with the group. He’s been guiding for 26 years, and it shows. You’re in great hands!

This was a wonderful experience being so up close and personal with a real volcano however when you pay to go up on horse they charge you after making it up to go down and no one said it’s not roundtrip so that was very disappointing
