The hanging bridges are cool but for us they were way overpriced, especially considering the things we have done for way less. On top of that, our guide was not very interested in talking about the wildlife or history, and we also felt like he just rushed us through the whole tour. If we went back, we would definitely go without a tour guide so we could take our time.

The guide is very knowledgeable and explained everything we asked or see. We saw an owl, a sloth, birds, and many more interesting animals.

We had already been to Curi-Cancha and the Cloud Rainforest, and we enjoyed this hike the most of the 3 locations. It's on the Caribbean side of the continental divide, so it was "in the clouds" and rain jackets were necessary. Our tour guide, Jainner, was awesome and spoke English well. If we were to visit again, I would try to get him again. If you keep your eyes open, you'll see wildlife, but not tons of birds or any sloths, so don't expect to see all the colorful tropical birds that are on advertising brochures. The bridges are cool because they take you through the different layers of the rainforst, so you can see the forest from different angles. A guide will show you a number of things that you would probably not find on your own.

Definitely go as early in the morning as possible… We did about half the hanging bridge tour without anyone else around, which was wonderful! Once the kids/families caught up to us we were sure not to see any wildlife as it was very loud. We walked slow, searching the canopy for sloths. All the advertising in the area makes it sound like you might see a sloth in its natural habitat… not so! This is pretty much impossible (according to the employee when we got back to reception) however, the scenery is absolutely beautiful! It’s quite amazing to be able to walk on top of the rainforest canopy amongst the clouds. It’s a well maintained trail. The suspension bridges felt completely safe. If you’re going in July to make sure that you have a poncho… definitely a high chance of rain up here! And dress warm! Even in July when most of coats rica is +30C, it was +18C at this elevation. Was it worth what we paid?!? We’re glad we went!

Beautiful way to see the cloud forest. Hanging bridges give the best views out over the canopy. Trails are right inside the lush forest. Fabulous…(apart from the rain…)

Selvatura Park was one of the highlights of my trip. The hanging bridges were absolutely stunning, peaceful, surreal, and perfect for slowing down and taking it all in. The views, the mist, the feeling of walking above the trees… unforgettable. Highly recommend!

I joined a family on a tour of the flora and fauna visible from the hanging bridges. Our guide was very knowledgeable as he told the stories of the plants and animals he pointed out to us. I enjoyed asking questions. He was also sensitive to the group dynamics. For example, he accommodated my pace caused by bad knees. He recognized each person in the group. This is important because the opportunity to visit Selvatura is usually a one-off.

We knew going in that Selvatura appeared to be one of the most commercial enterprises in Monteverde, but since we were late in the day, it was recommended that we do this hanging bridge tour instead of going into the Reserve (because the Reserve closes at 4, and we only had one night here). It was expensive ($56), and not guided. The hanging bridges were beautiful and the walk in the jungle was also beautiful. But. 1. It was self-guided, but no guide was provided except a small picture. There were no signs or information on the tour about flora or fauna to look for, watch for, or notice. Even the tiny trail for $4 ea in Montezuma had wildlife and plant information signs… They did have expensive guides (I compared across several shops and locations in the country - the laminated guides were at least 15% higher in their gift shop than anywhere else). 2. It was billed as a 1.5 hr walk. We did it in 30-40 min. We also did it during a thunderstorm and I had to question whether it was a good idea to be on metal hanging bridges during a thunderstorm, but they certainly were not concerned about it, and ziplining tours were still going as well. Lovely facility. Too expensive for the experience.

Great walk with the kids. Highly recommend. Not a bad drive to the park from the town. We did not have a guide. May be better with one.

The Treetop Walkways tour was so much fun! The views from the walkways were exceptional, and we all felt very safe! The walkways are made of steel with concrete bases. We saw many monkeys, birds, and even a pit viper!
