Omaha Beach: D-Day Hallowed Ground & Heroes Tour

We had an exceptional experience on the D-Day tour, thanks to our wonderful guide, Louis Boubat. His deep knowledge of the history and significance of each site brought the stories of Normandy to life in a compelling and memorable way. He skillfully balanced fascinating information with just the right touch of humor—never corny, always engaging—which made the tour enjoyable for everyone in our group. His passion for the subject was evident, and he answered all our questions thoughtfully. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in World War II history, and especially commend Louis for making it such an unforgettable day.

Excellent time with Theo Benoit. He is very knowledgeable. If you go on his tour stay close and listen A LOT. He knows the area, the history, and will keep talking as long as you want to listen. He also has some great options for other adventures in the area.

Our tour guide, Louis, was delightful. He was very knowledgeable about the events of WWII and well-prepared with visual aids. Louis was also an engaging speaker and super-friendly. I was greatly moved by the sites I was seeing and the stories he was telling.

This was one of the best tour experiences we came up from Paris in the morning had the afternoon it was so good the information stories the guide shares are person and create the feeling at the locations . It help with emotions and empathy of what happened the tour is so respectful and the guide so friendly even if not into war etc still do this tour best trip

From start to finish the tour was organized, comfortable, professional, and completely and accurately informative. Our guide, Remi, instilled a sense of commitment and passion that will stay with us forever. And we will pass it on. We must never forget the sacrifices made during this war. And to imagine the challenges these young soldiers faced so we can live free is highly emotional. The tour, the cemetery, the beaches…thank you.

Wonderful informative half day tour of Normandy. We left Paris by train at 8am to Bayeux returning train back to Paris 6pm. Full day but well worth our effort. The vehicle accommodates eight including the tour guide. The guide had a lot of knowledge of Normandy explaining each stop American Cemetery, Pointe du Hoc and Omaha’s Beach . The drive through Normandy was amazing. Book this trip!

We did this tour as part of our stay in Paris. Working with Overlord from the start was so easy, they were quick to respond to the email and booking was a breeze. Once in Bayeux (train from Paris was easy and relaxing), we had time to stroll around town and get some lunch before meeting with our afternoon tour in town. The town center and meeting spot for Overlord was an easy 10 min walk from the train station. We got so lucky because our tour guide was Remy and I cannot believe anyone else could have been better! We had a small group of about 8 (?) and Remy drove us around in a comfortable van, all while pointing out sites along the way and giving us some amazing history in a very easy to understand format. Omaha Beach was simply emotional, as was the cemetery. We never felt rushed (only a half day tour) and Remy was a wealth of information. At one point my purse mysteriously got caught on a wire fence, in the rain, at the cliff, and Remy worked on it until I was free. A true gentleman! We couldn't have been more pleased with our tour and Remy, we highly recommend it. In fact, it was one of the highlights of our 16 day Europe vacation.

We had a half-day tour of Omaha Beach with Overlord Tours, and our guide Louis was absolutely superb. His depth of historical knowledge was impressive, and he presented the stories with clarity and passion. Louise’s friendly personality, punctuality, and well-organized approach made the entire experience seamless. Being from the region himself, his personal connection to Normandy shined through in the details he shared, adding a special layer of authenticity to the tour. I toured with my parents, who are both over 70, and found the walking and pace of the tour very doable and comfortable for them. Louis was thoughtful in making sure the group was comfortable and could enjoy the experience fully. He also came fully prepared to help us Americans brave the rainy Normandy weather. I would highly recommend both Overlord Tours and Louis specifically for anyone seeking a meaningful and memorable visit to Omaha Beach.
