Isla Mujeres Luxury Catamaran: Snorkel, Open Bar & Island Bliss

We booked this through TUI from our hotel in Playa Del Carmen. It’s listed as a TUI ‘collection’ excursion at around £127 per person for a full day. They (TUI) could do with reviewing this as one of their 'choice' excursions because it simply isn't. The coach pick up’s there and back went to plan but on arrival in Cancun, you’re essentially dumped on the side of the road with no tour guide and left to find your own way through the boarding arrangements and on to the catamaran, which was chaotic. You sailed with music on maximum volume, taking a stop en route for some snorkelling. At Isla Mujeres you are allocated 90 minutes for brunch at what is described as a luxury private beach club. The brunch was awful and could only be described as the sloppy leftovers from a poor breakfast menu. There simply wasn’t enough food for the guests and although it was supposed to be hot, it was in fact cold. The beach club itself wasn't luxurious in any way shape or form. The setting was ramshackle, service was lacklustre and the toilets were stinking. If that was deluxe I would hate to see what basic is like!! We were then back on board the catamaran for no more than 10 minutes before again being dumped on a jetty across a bay, with access onto the main shopping street of Isla Mujeres. We weren't given the option to stay on the catamaran (which would have been our preference) and had to get off for another 90 minutes to 'explore', whether you wanted to or not. Unless you like souvenir shopping and enjoy being hounded by countless shopkeepers trying to sell you their wares, there was nothing else to do, so we just found a beach front bar to have a drink. Time on the catamaran itself was ok as the crew were fun and the free bar made for a cheery atmosphere on the way back but on a value for money basis, this trip was poor. It was a very long exhausting day, we boarded the coach in Playa Del Carmen at 7.45am and didn't get back until 7.30pm. In a nutshell, we’ve been on better value ½ day catamaran cruises closer to Playa Del Carmen......and TUI, you need to look at reviewing that beach club.....wow, that was poor.

Noah was excellent!! Entire crisis was phenomenal. 10/10. My wife and I came on our honeymoon and really enjoyed our entire experience.

This excursion was AMAZING and worth it . My friend & I was able to enjoy the boat ride with great views . Open bar , lunch and time off the boat to explore the island . I would recommend booking this excursion if you’re looking for something fun to do .

This Isla Mujeres excursion was a fantastic experience from start to finish and an incredible value for the money. The team was professional and organized from pick up to drop off, and everything in between ran smoothly, which made the whole day feel effortless and relaxing. Our lead tour operator, Martin, was outstanding – friendly, attentive, and on top of every detail, making sure everyone was safe and having a great time. The photographer, David, is incredibly talented; the photos turned out absolutely amazing and captured the day perfectly. The food on board was much better than expected, and the overall service from the entire crew was genuinely top‑notch. The snorkeling was a highlight, with beautiful water, great visibility, and a fun, well‑guided experience that worked for different comfort levels in the group. Between the organized logistics, excellent crew, delicious food, and stunning photos, this trip far exceeded expectations, and it is easy to recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

My daughters and I had an amazing time on this Isla Mujeres excursion; the boat and crew were excellent and the previews of our photos looked fantastic. However, the company’s handling of the photo package has turned a great day into a very frustrating experience. On Thursday (Thanksgiving), the onboard photographer, David, sold me a $120 photo package, which I paid for in cash. He promised that the photos would be emailed to me by Friday morning. It is now three days later, and I have received nothing—no email, no link, no follow‑up of any kind. I have checked my inbox and spam repeatedly and contacted the company, but they have provided no meaningful help in locating or sending my photos. At this point, I paid $120 for a product that was never delivered, and the company has not taken responsibility for fixing it. This is unacceptable and feels like taking advantage of tourists who are trusting you with once‑in‑a‑lifetime family memories. I expect the company to immediately send me the full set of photos taken by David during our Thanksgiving excursion to the email address I provided. If, for any reason, they cannot or will not do this, I expect a full refund of the $120 paid in cash. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will consider escalating the matter to consumer protection channels and relevant review and complaint platforms so other travelers are warned. Once the photos are delivered as promised—or the money is refunded—I am willing to update this review to reflect that the company ultimately did the right thing. Until then, future customers should think very carefully before paying in cash for photo packages on this excursion.

Isla Mujeres....speechless! The water is so blue, I was in awe. Small, beautiful, island, packed full of culture and good vibes! We got picked up from the hotel and it was about a 40 minute trip to the boat, we were allocated a boat and given a debrief of how the day would look. Once we got on the boat, it was clean and the people were really friendly. There is a photographer on board and I would highly recommend getting the pictures as they turned out amazing! Once you get on the island, I would recommend hiring a golf cart as that is the best way to travel around the island, there was great authentic food and lots of drinks ;). Overall, I highly recommend booking through Cancun Adventures, they always bring the vibes!

We had an amazing time on catamaran 12 with Sebastian as our tour guide today. We enjoyed snorkeling and took advantage of the swimming spots on Isla Mujeres that Sebastian told us about. This is actually more of a full day trip if your hotel is in Riviera Maya because it’s about an hour from the pier. The snorkel spots were great. Amazing staff and crew. Highly recommend for kids and adults.
