If this isn't your first time at an aquarium, and especially if you have children, there is potential for it to disappoint here. It is extremely crowded, it can be difficult to find a locker if needed, let alone a place to stand or sit and observe. While everyone loves otters, and there are a lot of separate tanks to observe different species, that is not the primary draw here, at least to me. Typically you would walk from room to room to feel like you've "done" an aquarium when you reach the end, having seen everything in between entrance and exit. The real attraction of the Oceanario is if you can allow yourself to be patient, find a place on any floor and feel immersed in the "ocean" around you. Wait for things to pass or approach the glass, don't go out in search of them. It is truly incredible what they've done here, but it does need to be experienced differently.

Wet day in Lisbon. A wet grey day what to do. Go and see the fishes. Thank goodness for Uber. Some have said that the experience is not worth it but I have to admit it was worth the visit. Little confusing having to queue for a ticket then queueing again for entry. We we enjoyed our time there and saw and learnt from the experience. Well worth the time.

The trip was amazing, there was quite a lot to see, especially the fact that there’s a souvenir shop at the end along with a cafe, and a character they use there references to “Vasco de Gama”, which was cool to think.

I would 100% recommend this aquarium to absolutely everyone (even if you dont like aquariums). This is the best aquarium i have ever been too, it genuinely made me feel emotional at some points, which was completely unexpected! The fresh water tank designed by Takashi Amano is absolutely incredible me and my partner could have sat there for hours ! (The music and lighting just made it such an immersive experience), infact after walking the entire aquarium we asked staff if we could circle around again JUST to see this 1 exhibit because it was truly that amazing! (We both discussed how if we were fish we would HAPPILY live in this tank because WOW). All of the animals have beautiful and appropriate environments, our favourite species were the leafy seahorse and the sea otters and the sunfish !10/10 experience cannot express enough.

Our visit to the Oceanário de Lisboa was a big highlight of our trip! The aquarium is very large and spacious with many viewing areas to its large, central tank. The sea life is truly mesmerizing and when we went, sun beams cast down through it for a beautiful effect. It also has different sections dedicated to locations around the world. Some parts can get crowded, but we didn’t miss viewing anything. We visited on a Monday afternoon. The aquarium also has a large gift shop and many snack or lunch options. We originally weren’t going to take the cable car (due to its heights), but got the courage and it wasn’t scary after all! It was a nice and relaxing way to view the city from above. My husband and I recommend visiting if you’re in Lisbon!

The aquarium is effectively one large tank that you do two rotations around, it’s busy, overcrowded and the you end up looking at the same species time and again. The whole aquarium was done in about one hour and that’s taking time over various bits. It’s overpriced and for all the online billing of it being a fantastic aquarium it’s disappointing.

Absolutely huge aquarium - very nice! We were the 3rd and 4th guests in at 10.00 sharp, and enjoyed all the different fish, sharks, penguins and otters! Great experience overall.
