Sintra & Pena Palace: Epic Lisbon Fairy Tale & Coastal Escape

It is good that we started early so we could beat the rush at Pena place. Can can feel a bit cramped for 8 people especially for folks in the back row. Immanuel was a good guide explaining things at the right time. Also had umbrellas when it was drizzling a bit.

We booked the Small Group Tour to Sintra, Pena Palace, Cabo Roca and Cascais from Lisbon, Portugal on 12/07/2025 and our guide Sara made the whole process smooth, ensuring we all felt comfortable throughout. Sara was incredibly knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor that made history fun. She made great suggestions for best photo opportunities and yes even took our pictures. Sara kept the pace comfortable all while accommodating people of varying ages. The customer service was top-notch, and would highly recommend! I've been a loyal Viator customer for over five years now, and the entire team never fails to impress. From the touch base the night before to the drop off right to our hotel after we could not have asked for anything more.

Emanuel our tour guide was knowledgeable and balanced his presentation with just enough rather than being over board. This was good as we had a part of the group who were non-English speakers and he need to repeat it twice. Though he did it well, I am wondering why this tour organiser had us paired with non-English speakers as we clearly paid for an English group.

Sara was a FANTASTIC guide!!! From the moment we met she was absolutely accommodating and incredibly knowledgeable! We booked our tour in Spanish because we felt comfortable with it and believed we’d get more out of it, but her ENGLISH is AMAZING!!! The entire tour was filled with incredible insights and historical knowledge that made the tour super engaging and enjoyable. Everyone had a great time! Also when she gives you the choice to do the small restaurant lunch at the family restaurant or in the city, take the small restaurant!! Hands down, best sea bass, olives, Iberian pig, cheese, and veal, dessert, wine…everything was PHENOMENAL!!! The weather didn’t cooperate very much but she still made it an amazing trip! Get off to take the pics where she suggest, you won’t regret it!! THANK YOU, SARA!!!!

An amazing day with Sara, our tour guide. In advance of the tour, day prior; Sara reached out personally to share logistics. This was super helpful and greatly appreciated. On day of tour Sara arrived; promptly at 7:30 am as promised. Upon arrival and with each passenger pick up Sara provided clear details of the day’s intentions and plan. As we progressed on our tour Sara provided details from a historical and geographic perspective for each location/site. Sadly, the weather wasn’t completely cooperative (rain, fog, etc..). Regardless, Sara pursued the plan and/or options as our group decided! Through Sara’s detailed narrative I walked away from the day with new details and information of Sintra, Cabo da Roca, Cascais and other locales/sites of interest in the area. Lastly, she took the group (at our request) to an amazing place for a brilliant lunch. Each of us was highly satisfied with our meal and the service; impeccable. Definitely fair amount of walking, some hills involved; wear sensible shoes and by all means, let your guide know your limitations (if any). She happily made concessions for some members of the group as needed.
