Great coverage of the important Roman sites in the Avignon area. Our guide was informative, an excellent driver, and passionate about the region. Especially liked th small group format.

Wonderful tour of the Roman era relics in the lower Rhône River region. All were interesting to see in person. Don’t miss visiting the natural spring in Nîmes with its Roman ruins in a beautiful setting.

The tour leader was very good. He kept us entertained with lots of information and stories. I even gave him a tip.

Jeremy the guide was unbelievably good. His English, his charm and his knowledge made for a perfect day. Not a single boring moment and also be was an excellent driver. The day could not be bettered.

This was an outstanding tour, the Roman coliseum and temple in Nimes were in outstanding shape. In the PM we went to the Pont du Gard and the Roman theater in Orange, both were really excellent. The outstanding guide Jerem did all the driving and the explanations of the sites, a big job. The only drawback was the lunch period at Uzes'. There were other tourbus patrons there and we all had an hour to eat lunch. There were not many servers at each place and one had to use the cafe's restroom. There were public toilets but they were scattered far apart and the one we went to was closed. We had only enough time to eat our bagged lunch as a result. This was not even high season!

Our driver/guide, Florian (sp), had an outgoing personality and spoke English very well. The tour's focus was suppose to be on the historic Roman sites in Provence. Most of the time, Florian, stayed on focus. But unfortunately, one of the participants in group, from Australia, was a wine snob and redirected the conversation often to discussions of wine. Florian also was knowledgeable on wines and accommodated the snob in discussions. The wine snob should have taken the wine tour instead of the Roman historical tour. Florian should also stayed more focused on the historical site.

If you've seen similar sites in Rome, then pass on this. The guide, Flo, really just drove us around. Instead of getting interesting tidbits about Romans in France, he talked about the wine industry and his hometown. Granted, the dude next to him kept asking him those questions, but at some point he should have gotten back on track. Instead he relied on the audio guides at the stops, which were less than stellar. The coliseum in Nimes is undergoing restoration and the outside is interesting. They still use it as an arena, so the inside has been retrofitted with metal stadium bleachers, which really detracts. The audio guide was worthless - way too much fake "interviewing" as if you're at a gladiator match! The Pont du Gord was amazing to see in person. The last, a theater in (? forgot) was in good condition, but only entertained for about 10 minutes. Lots of driving for very little history and information!

We had a very knowledgeable guide named Bastien. As an English speaking guide he has an outstanding mastery of the language. He was very pleasant. The whole group was very satisfied with the Roman sites on this tour. I would highly recommend it. Well worth the money
