Qatar: Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH) Al Maha Lounge

Amazing airport lounge! Very peaceful and calm, very clean, staff are lovely, plenty of toilets. Not a great selection of food though

Hamad International Airport opened in 2014 and is named after the former Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. It consists of one terminal, divided into sections A, B, C, D, E, and F. It has been repeatedly recognized as the best airport in the world, handling 30-40 million passengers annually. The airport features a garden with a waterfall and several iconic installations, including a yellow bear under a lamp. The best way to get to the city is by Uber, downloading the app upon arrival. There is a metro station. However, if you have a lot of luggage, this is not a very convenient option, as the walk to the station is about half a kilometer, and Doha's metro network is not as developed as, for example, Seoul, where almost every hotel is within walking distance. The Al Maha Lounge offers passengers a quiet place to relax, with comfortable chairs and sofas. The menu is varied and the food is delicious. The staff is attentive. The lounge has everything you need to unwind before your next flight. The only drawback of the North and South lounges is their small size. This leads to crowding and a long line at reception.

Very crowded and hard to find a spare seat. Used plates sat for a lengthy time, though the staff appeared to be busy. Food was all right with enough choices including fresh fruit. Plenty of drinks to choose from. I would return.

No seats available at Midnight. Had a good shower but could have done that a lot cheaper at a spa. Only two recliner chairs in the whole place.

The Al Maha lounge is dark, not inviting and at times crowded. wld be nice if all the couches/seats have a leg rests after long flights. the area for sleep quickly filled up. Not enough. The food is ok. The workers are slow to pick up empty and dirty dishes. Drinks ok. They should provide fruit juices. Trip advisor could have made the tickets easier to access and read. Took awhile to get to the QR code. We paid for 8 hours. We were told to use the lounge for 4 hours and return to the crowded counter to stamp for another 4 hour use. meanwhile they kept our boarding passes until we exit the lounge. Very cumbersome process.

This is not the same standard as a business class lounge, so expect a smaller selection of food, drinks and places to seat. However the staff were nice, place was kept clean. Food was OK nothing special, small non alcoholic and alcoholic selection. If you do like to snack and have a drink this might not be bad value as anything in the airport is very expensive. Example a small Fanta bottle 8 dollars.

I had a pre booked ticket via Trippest on the Tripadvisor site but I’m glad I noticed that a had to send an email to access a QR code to gain entrance. There are a lot of staff there who are very fastidious about keeping it clean. There were also some very appetising refreshments. I couldn’t face hot food, but had some amazing tabouleh and a potato salad, some deserts and baklava type sweets. I found it all very nicely done. It was busy but not overfull. There is a small snug with a few recliners for sleeping and a little odour in that area from the smoking room. I don’t think you could rely on getting one of the reclining sleep seats, but there are many comfortable chairs to stay awake in. The shower was available and impeccably clean. I would definitely come to the Al Maha lounge again. Not sure I had any other lounge options on my economy ticket, but this was certainly good enough for me

One of well connected airports that connects east to west. The airport has come long way and well maintained. Travel, shopping experience at the same place. Places to engage kids.. it’s one of the good airports I have seen

Even though we had booked our entry prior to flying, were informed at reception that they were full but that we could enter but there were no seats available at present. Once we eventually got seats, they weren't particularly comfortable. The food was not great. All in all, won't be booking this lounge again

Great place well worth paying to access this lounge. Food was fresh hot and plentiful nice relaxed and quiet for a layover relax fr the noisy and busy airport. Had a nice hot shower and a drink afterwards .
