St. Catherine city has a high spiritual significance as a result of its location near Moses Mountain. Enjoy the Beautiful landscape all the way from Sharm El Sheikh and visit the oldest monastery in the world! St. Catherine's Monastery lies on the Sinai Peninsula, at the mouth of a gorge at the foot of Mount Sinai in St. Catherine's City. The monastery is Orthodox and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This monastery is one of the oldest working Christian monasteries in the world. The monastery was built by order of Emperor Justinian I, enclosing the Chapel of the Burning Bush ordered to be built by St. Helen, the mother of Constantine I, at the site where Moses is supposed to have seen the burning bush; the living bush on the grounds is purportedly the original. It is also referred to as "St. Helen's Chapel". The site is sacred to Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

This was a well organised trip. We received all the relevant information the day before via WhatsApp. There were only five of us on this trip which was very nice. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and translated everything into German and English so everyone could understand it. Our lunch was at a restaurant right next to the sea. The food and staff were lovely. We rounded off the day with a bit of shopping before returning to the hotel. An enjoyable day out!

Early start, long day. Totally worth it Modest dress as those who are shorts are asked to wear a wrap to cover up My tour was ran by Sharm smile tours The driver was excellent the guide Mahmoud clearly was passionate about the history of Egypt and Sinai. As it was a private tour it went at your pace. Definitely worth the extra cost. Lunch over looking the sea at dahba was very good. Truly a great day !

I went on this private tour to St Catherine’s monastery and Dhoba today Ahmed the driver was a safe and courteous driver. Car was immaculate and asked often if the temperature was ok Mahmoud - what can I say. The consummate professional guide. Not only was he hugely informative he was concerned that I was enjoying the trip and let it be led at my pace. Female travelling on her own I could not have felt more comfortable with these gents. Lunch at Ali baba restaurant was delicious. Highly recommend the fish. Sat overlooking the sea. Perfect. Worth paying the extra to go private. Tge trip itself is so spiritual. A must do . X

I opted for the St Catherine Monastery Tour from Sharm El Sheikh with Sharm Smile Tour for my family and myself. From pickup to dropoff, everything went really smoothly. The driver, Ahmed, was very nice and drove us safely in a spacious vehicle, and we never felt unsafe. On the other hand, our guide Salam was very knowledgeable about all the areas we passed through and kept sharing stories and history about every place. The St Catherine Monastery itself is very peaceful and beautiful. Had a lovely experience booking this tour. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! On a side note, I also took some more services, including airport transfer and a city tour of Sharm El Sheikh, and that was also really nice.

Our guide Hanafi was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. One of the best tours we have ever done. Our driver Ahmed was also very kind and responsible. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience. Comfortable bus ride from Sharm el Sheikh to and from St Catherine’s monastery. Our hotel pick up was prompt at 5.30am, which gave us enough time to arrive at St. Catherine’s before the bustling crowds descending from Mt Sinai. Our tour guide (Mohammed) was extremely knowledgeable, not only giving us background knowledge on the monastery itself, but also on Sharm, the locals and important historical facts. We spent approximately 2 hours at the monastery, which was more than enough time to absorb its rich history and architecture (with great opportunities for taking pictures). The trip to Dahab for lunch at Ali Baba’s was well worth it, some of the best grilled chicken I’ve ever had (with a wonderful sea side view to boot!). We got back to our hotel in good time. This trip was a last minute decision by the family and we were apprehensive beforehand about the 3 hour road journey from Sharm el Sheik to St Catherine’s. However, this tour was absolutely worth it and I would highly recommend that anyone who is interested in visiting this historic site use Sharm smile as their operator. You won’t regret it!!!

Worth every penny! Do yourself a favor and spend a little more and take this private tour. Our guide Mohammed is incredibly knowledgeable about Egypt. He taught us not only about Saint Catherine but about Egypts history and culture. The tour includes an incredible lunch in Dahab at the Ali Baba Restaurant overlooking the Red Sea. Lunch was amazing and so delicious!! We were picked up in an air conditioned car from our hotel and returned directly to our hotel. It was an unforgettable experience. 5 stars!!!

Our tour was incredible. Everything was exactly on time as promised. Mohammed is an archeologist who speaks 5 languages. He not only explained everything about Saint Catherine’s as we went through, he also explained about Egypt and her history and culture itself on the drive there and back. The lunch at Ali Baba’s Restaurant after Saint Catherine’s was superb and next level. A delicious sampling of Egyptian cuisine overlooking the beautiful Red Sea in Dahab. Mohammed always gives you free time to look and wonder on your own. Do yourself a favor and spend the money for this private tour. You ride in a private air conditioned car, the tour is at your pace, and personalized to you and your questions. Mohammed even took pictures of my wife and I at all the important areas. I 100% recommend this tour!!!!

It was a great day with Ahmed and Mohammed our guide. Mohammad packed in so much history and cultural insights during the drive and the visit to the monastery. We learned way more than we expected. He taught us a lot about the Bedouin culture and facts about Egypt today and in its history. Ahmed was a smooth driver and easy pick up. It starts a bit early but it’s worth it to beat most of the crowds from the other tours. The drive even though a bit long, goes by very quick as the Mountain views are stunning. Do this if you’re in Sharm!
