Not what I expected or hoped for. I went to the Fort where dozens of school kids were having a great time playing games, blasting music. There appeared to be classes for kids in some of the buildings. The little museum was good but not free: €6.50. The paths were not clearly marked. I ended up having a long walk through the woods (not a bad thing necessarily) but not finding my way to places I would have liked to have seen. The vendors had a €10 minimum for card use. You might want to bring cash. The ferry ride to the island was pleasant. The return to Cannes had 50 young adults with luggage board first so it was not easy to find a seat. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, I’d advise against this.

its good. But can you change the directions in the map? Because we go the place but its not there. Luckily, some peope help us to locate it. And yeah we go back to entrance of the port and a few minutes walk where there. Please change it. Coz we walked a lot.

Everything was as advertised, sunny day, beautiful island. Not as crowded as I had anticipated, a good thing. Swam in the ocean at two different sites - rugged entry but clear, refreshing water once you were in. Loved eucalyptus alley. Only glitch was that Trip Advisor was not aware that the laubeuf parking area was closed to all but subscribers.

For those that enjoy the outdoors, the shade from the trees that are along the paths, easy walking dirt roads. Plan for the day, take provisions, food and water. Plan to carry your rubbish off the island. Look for the rocky paths that lead to a rocky beach and enjoy the view and water. The Fort was occupied by multiple groups of people during our visit. You can walk about 50% outside of the Fort, appears to be in renovation. Pictures of the Royal Fort are misleading.

A very nice ride to the island. The boat was clean and comfortable. The island is very green and picturesque Bring food and water as there was nothing over there when I went in December.

This is a wonderful and easy way to experience the beautiful island of Sainte Margaurite. We walked the fort (cost was $6,50 euro) and than swam and snorkeled on the coast. Bring a cooler if you can - the day we went there were no shops open. Also wear walking sneakers or good shoes - not flip flops. The trails are nice but you are walking a lot. Enjoy -

Fast and very easy access to island. Just make sure you allow time for parking as car park was full and had to go further to find a space.
