I visited the MÈDINA and I stumbled upon the nicest Henne spot in Place Ben Salah Rue Azbezt Medina Marrakech Zara and her team were extremely hospitable and friendly offering my wife mint tea and cake. The journey with taxi was hellish, so stopping off was lovely! I came back to see the wonderful work on my wife’s hand. She was over the moon with the finished design The service and price was reasonable, what was also great was the natural home made products available! So we bought some to take back home! In a city full of madness the tranquil spot is a must go destination It’s really near the photographic museum so I would recommend a visit for the guys! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 10/10! I would suggest this spot, not in main of the MÈDINA but great if like to explore

We were dropped off quite a long way from the shopping area, it was hot and too far to walk for me, the streets are very narrow, and you get hassled constantly, which I expected, We got left alone in the square by the snack charmers and monkey touts. I was not very impressed.

Extremes abound here. On one hand the place is simply fabulous with its gorgeous stalls, handcrafted products, smells and lively crowds. Our experience at Dal Essalam was nothing short of sublime and we thoroughly enjoyed the location and the maze of the medina. On the other hand there is much to dislike. The mopeds/scooters are a cancer for old medina. They should at least get fined for their ludicrous speeding in the crowd. They are extremely dangerous and i can't imagine how many people are injured pr worse every year. Also, like many others, I am BEYOND furious about the animal treatment and the chained monkeys that are somehow allowed. I can hardly express my rage at the sight of monkeys actively pulling on their chain, gnawing and fighting their enslavement. I dont understand how Morrocans disgrace themselves tolerating public cruelty. Dishonor and disgrace, that's all it is, and locals should ask themselves what it says about them.

For my families first trip to Morocco I wanted my 3 daughters to experience the hustle and bustle culture of Marrakesh’s medina, and I couldn’t be more happier with our tour guide Amid! We would have really struggled to navigate Our way round without his expertise and knowledge on the city’s history. Thanks to Amid we managed to do all the things we wanted to see and do…. From holding a monkey, seeing a cobra be charmed, having traditional henna, to learning about how the different products are made like leather bags, and Moroccan carpets. There was something memorable for all of us.

This was an experience! Lots of people everywhere all wanting you to buy there items but if you said no thank you they left you alone. The little alleys to the souks were packed and it was amazing to see but chaotic with the amount of people, bikes and mopeds driving along the alley ways. The smells were not all nice, wafts of piss, animal poo and god knows what else but the but the spices were a welcome relief. I can imagine the souks are to everyone's taste but we enjoyed the bartering and culture. Unique place and glad we got to visit it twice

Be careful that you walk away with what you paid for. We got ‘stung’ on two occasions in the same day at totally different shops/stalls so this is clearly a tactic that they have perfected. 1. Bought a kaftan for myself, tried on in the shop and loved it, we did the whole haggle thing and settled for a price. Slippery sales man handed kaftan to chap behind till to put in bag when I handed over the money, only for a different kaftan(same color) to be put in bag. Oh and they throw in a free wooden honey drizzler just to dazzle you further. Got back to hotel and the kaftan I now own has no stitching under the one of the armpits, the edges are frayed and the quality is really poor. Try taking it back to complain? No chance as there is no return policy in Morocco. Cash only remember! 2. Thought we’d buy a nice small lantern to go on our mantle, found the one we wanted, got the price we wanted. The salesman was super quick, he turned around for no more than a second to wrap in paper and put in a bag. We left and back at hotel discovered it had been switched for one of very poor quality and damaged. Damn! These sellers are super sneaky and lightning fast. My advice is choose what you want buy , don’t let go of it, pay and leave. You don’t need the rubbish plastic bag they are going to put it in.

So when we went to Marrakech souk and medina, I have to say I have never seen so many shops/stalls etc in my life, the experience was something of you have never done worth trying, the whole bartering completely baffles me being so use to a structured system of the price being presented and that’s what you pay has always been the normality of our lives, Needles to say it was rather fun trying to see what tolerances you could go with and without of course offending those who sell, But not only does it have these remarkable stalls/shops etc, with lovely crafted taglines/bowls/cups etc, but the market place in the square outside turns into a some what performance arena, snake charmers, monkey handlers, musicians. Rather entertaining more so from a distance so then you don’t feel too bad when you want to move on and not feel forced to pay some money, The restaurant and cafes are a bit pricey around here so watch where you go, in the end we found some places would sell cans of coke for 25 dirham but other places would sell you a bottle 1.5L for 15 dirham, which is more than enough for two of you especially if the Cokes lovely and cold . All in all it was a lovely experience and well worth it if your in the area

The Medina in the day time is hot and really for me just a market but at night it is vibrant, colourful and hectic but true Marrakech. Haggling for a bargain is a national sport in Morocco they love it and so did I.

Absolutely amazing a little daunting at times you need to be very savi around the streets as motor bikes race everywhere but fully enjoyed it and extremely cheap.

We decided to hire our own private tour guide to take us shopping at the Medina in Marrakesh. Youseph met us outside the Medina, and spend five hours with us. We got to see shops that other two guides will not take you to, like the craftsman section where we observed things being made. Joseph had a great sense of humor, was fun & patient with us as we shopped our way through the Medina. With over 3000 shops in the Medina, it is a good idea to have your own guide. We highly recommend them.
