Tenerife's Grand Tour: Teide Volcano & Masca Ravine Journey

Excellent trip. Guide very informative & had a passion for his job. Driver was amazing getting us safely through the roads at Masca!

We booked this tour weeks ahead. At 09h on the eve of the day selected we got a reminder and a note saying tickets and pickup info would follow shortly. They never came. Late afternoon I contacted the tour operator Canariasrent by phone. It turned out that there our reservation had gone "lost" and the tour was complete. We had to make new arrangements for the next available day. On arrival, the bus was nearly full and we sat on the uncomfortable back seats for the 8h tour with a broken air condition vent. The tour was interesting, the guide knowledgeable and the driver competent. PS. The road in the Masca ravine was narrow and the authorities are advised to limit access to minibuses only.

Picked up from our hotel on time. Bus - 40ish people - had great AC though seats a bit tight for bigger folks. Big windows. We took in Icod de last Vinos, Garachico, Mascara & Teide, with appropriate amounts of time at each. Guide was knowledgeable & approachable. The real hero of the day was the driver (Xavi/Ravi?) for handling the narrow & winding roads on the west side of the trip. I'd have been a nervous wreck.. door to door was about nine hours and this represented excellent value.

This is a great day trip, visiting a few very interesting parts of the island. The bus driver deserves every Euro he was given in tips for the journey. The Masca valley area is absolutely stunning and the skills he showed driving through the narrow winding mountain roads was superb. The only reason I didn't give the review 5 stars is that I feel that we always seemed to be against time and didn't spend the time at stop off points that I expected. Driver and tour guide superb though, this is definitely not a criticism of them. Would highly recommend, it's a long day trip but worth it. Gracias.

We got picked up at our hotel and drove the other hotels to pick up other visitors. The guide explained what to expect ant guided us through the day. We had some nice stops at little towns where we took a slow walk and at some stops we had some leisure to spend alone without the group. Each stop was very nice! We had a bigger break to have lunch at a restaurant in the national park of Teide - would not recommend eating there. You don’t have to eat there, this is just a suggestion of the guide. Food was not good and the restaurant wasn’t very nice either. Overall a great tour which gives a very nice overview of the great island. Our guide was very nice and explained much more things than expected! Do not book this tour if you are scared of narrow and curvy roads. The downside for me was the bus. The bus was clean and nice but if you have a bit longer legs you have a big problem. I had NO space for my legs and had real bad problems sitting.

First of all a big thank to our driver Xavi for his patience and driving skills on the road to and from Masca! Great respect! Also many thanks to our guide Jose who knows the place very well, he was explaining and telling us the history of every place we visited so good that I had the feeling I was there for years. The excursion is a great opportunity to explore the difficult but yet so beautiful and interesting part of the island, I would say. The during of the stops were just exact so we could see the basic sightseers, get some information and also have some time on our one. I would prefer 30 mins more in Masca.

Much longer trip than I expected. Amazing views along the way and expert driving through Masca Valley. Devastating to see the effects of last year's forest fire. Very informative tour guide

Had great time. We didn’t feel rushed or forced to buy particularly products that are sometimes pushed on people on these excursions . Wasn’t tiring and too long. Timings just right.

Our tour guide was excellent & our driver navigated treacherous roads in a very calm manner. Great value for money

A lovely day out. Worth doing! Highly recommended. Really enjoyed my partner and I. The guide was fluent in 3 languages. Very knowledgeable indeed.
