Breathtaking Hell's Gate & Naivasha: Kenya Day Safari from Nairobi

Recently, I had the pleasure of taking a mountain-biking day tour to Hells Gate National Park. The experience was truly made exceptional by my two guides, David and Frederick. David provided me with safe and informative transport to the location. And Frederick showed me the many wildlife in the park and the ecosystems supporting them.

Great time riding through the park by bike: Gomez was an excellent guide, striking the right balance of sharing info but not talking nonstop. He was very knowledgeable in answering all our questions, whereas sometimes other guides sort of seem like they’ve just colorized a script. Overall, a very cool way to experience nature outside of the typical safari vehicle experience.

David was a wonderful guide. Very courteous and knowledgeable of the region. Highly recommend and would definitely tour with David again!

David was an incredible tour guide & very knowledgeable about the history of Naivasha. He went above & beyond to ensure we had a great time. If we ever come back to Naivasha we would only work with him to show us around. He gave the best experience!!!

We had an amazing day with David and Fredrick. The biking was lovely and we got to see so many animals in the park. Both David and Fredrick were so informative and we were constantly asking questions. The boat ride was super cool as well - we loved seeing hippos and all the birds. What a lovely way to get out of Nairobi for a day - highly recommended!

The trip to Hell’s Gate National Park in Kenya was an absolutely amazing experience, the park is stunning with its beautiful landscapes, gorges, and the chance to be close to wildlife, but the real highlight was my guide – very friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate, with incredible insights about the park’s flora, fauna, and history, which made the whole tour both fascinating and unforgettable, I highly recommend Hell’s Gate and such a guide to anyone looking for a truly unique adventure.

A most memorable experience exploring Hell’s Gate and Lake Naivasha with our incredible guide, David. He was so knowledgeable about Kenya (history, food, education, etc.). It was so enjoyable getting to share the day with him while also exploring the beauty that are these places. We started out with a five mile bike ride with our park guide Frederick. It was mostly flat but some downhills on the way into the gorge. The hike down the gorge was a little treacherous in places, but Frederick was an expert in navigating and providing a hand when necessary. We had the option to bike back or have David pick us up and we opted for the pick up because frankly we were hot and hungry. David drove us to nearby hotel for lunch on our own. The food was delicious and honestly some of the best we have had in Kenya. Next, we visited Lake Naivasha where our guide navigated the lake so well. We saw so many different species of birds and he was so great at pointing them out. At the end of the day, David drove us back to our hotel in Nairobi providing great commentary. Overall, it was a wonderful tour and we highly recommend taking it with your partner or family (especially if you get David!)

Mr Patrick picked us up from our hotel, stopped for coffee and kept us entertained on the way with fascinating history facts. As soon as we got to Hell's gate, we met our tour guide, Reagan- warm, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Lake Naivasha was absolutely stunning- A must visit. Wrapped the tour with a heartful, warm African meal at Naivasha Crescent Lodge. 10/10 experience!!

The Hells gate and lake Navesha tour was a fantastic experience. David, our driver was prompt, polite and made excellent conversation ensuring that we made it to our destination on time. The bicycle riding in Hells gate park was a welcome change of pace and a really interesting way to experience the landscape and animals within it. After the ride, we ate lunch at a local resteraunt in town and then headed to Lake Navesha for the boat tour of the lake. I was blown away with the quantity of bird life and hippo's in this location. Would 100% recommend.
