Our Half Day Classic Raft trip begins at the northern border of Yellowstone National Park, right where the Gardiner River converges with the mighty Yellowstone River. This trip is fun for the whole family as we run Class 1-3 (water level dependent, call our office to ask about current river conditions) and take children as young as 6! Ride the waves at Bridge Waves, Man Eater, Loonie's and Boonie's Revenge, Queen of the Waters, and the KING! Take in the breathtaking view of Devil’s Slide. Float through some flat water stretches that are great for swimming and relaxing. This trip is great for first time rafters or family groups with wide age and ability ranges. This trip is 8 miles on the river, roughly 1-1.5 hours of on the water fun depending on water levels (CFS), and roughly 2.5-3 hours door-to-door. This includes gear up, gear down, and a short drive to and from the river, no more than 15 minutes total in the bus, round trip!

I highly recommend Montana Whitewater. They were extremely helpful in planning which trip suited our comfort level and we couldn't have been happier. We (3 adults) took a private trip, meaning you raft with other people, but have your own guide and raft. Our guide, Emily, was personable and knowledgable, explaining what we were seeing and helping novice paddlers like us throughout the trip. She was also great at pointing out wildlife (we saw 2 bald eagles) and other important features along the river. Everything was very well organized from the beginning (getting outfitted with the proper gear and safety instructions) to the end. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Great trip down the river with our guide Emily! She has a wealth of knowledge and the river, the area and geological of the mountains/riverbanks. We scored big time by witnessing a mama bear and her cub cross the river as we were launching our boats 🥰.

This was a great trip, and excellent for first time rafters. There are a few good bumps and splashes, but overall very safe and family friendly. Elijah was an excellent guide with tall-tales and excellent sense on the river.

Thank you Montana and Addie! For sending us off on our first day of our best trip visiting your State! Her safety measures with soo much knowledge IS what made our trip memorable! Us Mom's, love that, especially seeing the whole crew work together in unison with safety first! Best Wishes, Kat
