If it weren’t for the most amazing tour guide, Sylvia, this would have been a terrible disappointment. Murano glass tour demonstration limited and brief before being ushered into their store. The salesmen followed us everywhere with pressure to buy high end glass. Burano was a picturesque island worth the visit. But the presentation on lace making laughable. However all was not wasted given the outstanding tour guide. She provided us with a great history of Venice. She explained the geography. She taught us where native Venetians hang out throughout the year to sunbathe, ride bikes and walk their dogs. She detailed the transportation system. I could go on. She was a wealth of information. She was well spoken, fun, and very helpful. If you could confirm Sylvia as your guide then you absolutely must go on this tour.

We truly enjoyed our visits to Murano and Burano. They were well worth visiting for the experience of the glass factory and the unique houses. However, the real highlight was the knowledge and insight of our guide, Elly. She obviously loves where she lives, enjoys sharing her love of Venice with you and truly enjoys her work with a joy that is inspiring.

Long boat rides. Murano glass beautiful but no pics and very expensive. Quite the experience though!

Elly was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and answered everyone's questions. By the end of the tour she knew everyone' name! She gave everyone tips on restaurants, history and entertainment!

Our trip was run by Elena. She was very knowledgeable and a true Venetian. A slick around trip, plenty of time in the right places. Elena gave us her own personal tips and they didn’t disappoint. Points of interest also noted by Elena between Murano and Burano on the boat. Worth a trip to and you can then understand how the places come alive and its history.

Flavia was our tour guide - she was very personable, friendly, and had lots of good information about both Murano and Burano. The glass demonstration at Murano was impressive and their showroom is just amazing. Burano has a quaint town square and we did get to witness lacemaking by one of their highly qualified lacemakers. She was working on an intricate lace Madonna. Beautiful! We then had free time to wander the main square in Burano and our return boat ride was during a glorious sunset. It was a nice afternoon!

The information I received was excellent; giving me an exact meeting point and start time. Our guide, Monica, was also excellent and kept us all entertained with facts and some comedy. Murano was OK, although I felt that the glass blowing exhibition was a little tokenistic and only there to get you into the showrooms (although the glasswork in the showrooms is amazing). Burano was lovely and the lace making demonstration was fascinating. The town is picturesque and pleasant to walk around. Overall a very enjoyable day, but would go on our own next time.

Murano and Burano are adorable little islands definitely worth visiting. In Murano, the primary focus was the glass blowing factory and its high end retail store. There was little time to actually explore Murano’s streets and discover its charm (the reason for 4 stars and not 5). Our time in Burano, known for its lacemaking, was much less structured and allowed us to wander and revel in its quaint beauty. Our guide Christina was very knowledgeable and lovely. This excursion also serves as a boat tour of Venice’s many islands, their history, and the day to day life of Venetians.
