We took the tour with Giselle as our guide. She was very knowledgeable about both the foods and Merida, offering insights on things to see as well as foods to try and places to eat. She inquired with the group about foods we had already tried and worked with the vendors to assure we got to try new things. All the foods (fresh fruits, tacos, empanadas, traditional candies, ceviche) and beverages (horchata, sangria soda, tamarind and jamaica juices) were included in the tour price. Our final stop was a Michelin-rated gelato shop. Highly recommended as a great introduction to the culinary and cultural scene of Mérida Centro.

Romina Rodriguez (guide) was a key part of the outstanding adventure. Personality, attention to details and making our experience her focus was awesome. The tour is well laid out. So many types of street food, spices and pastes used in the dishes. More than we ever thought... Romina was very interactive with the food vendors. The next to the last stop was outstanding seafood. So good, we went back the next day for lunch! Romina finished the tour sharing her favorite ice cream shop. Family business, all homemade and delicious flavors. Do not miss this activity!

Romina was fantastic!!! We got a good explanation of some of the history of Merida, but for us, the tour was all about the food. In the market, stops were frequent, with a great explanation of the produce and the spices used in the food we were tasting. The types of food were pretty diverse, and all of it really delicious. We enjoyed being thrust into the small tables and locals. Made us feel part of. Great job Romina!!!

What an amazing food tour with Diego! We didn't just try (delicious) local dishes but ate, drank and learned so much about local eating culture, where ingredients come from and how it's cooked. Diego also taught us so many interesting things about daily life and the history of Merida. He is a wonderful guide and I can't recommend him enough! We ended up the only 2 people on the tour so it felt like a premium experience :)

Our guide, Zulma, was excellent. She explained everything so well and gave us a great cultural and historical background. It was a taste and smell extravaganza. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Giselle Chay was brilliant . She explained and took us to some unusual and great places to try fresh ceviche and a local pork dish. The gelato at the end was amazing too !

A truly authentic culinary journey! This tour provides great variety and big portions. You'll taste everything from traditional tacos to local spices and liquors. A major highlight is that you're eating at authentic local vendors alongside locals, far from any 'made-up for tourists' experience, and that's exactly what we wanted. Our guide, Diego, was exceptional. He was incredibly informative, and his perfect English (he lived in the US) made the entire experience seamless and engaging. Highly recommend this tour for an insider's view of Merida's food scene!

This was an awesome food tour. Our guide Romina was amazing - knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. Not only did she guide us to delicious food spots that we never would have found on our own, but she gave us a bunch of recommendations for places that we will now be visiting during the rest of our stay in Merida. 100% recommended.
