This is a must-see! The place where the Jews were once confined and which has now become the heart of the Jewish community in Rome. Grab the chance to visit the Jewish sites with a local official tour guide from the Jewish community of Rome, and do not be afraid to get in contact if you want to take the tour in the afternoon. Everything is slow and relaxed, and a stark contrast to the hectic lifestyle of the rest of the city. The lovely Rome Synagogue and Jewish Museum are also located here and constitute a fundamental chapter of Jewish history. On Shabbath we can give you the chance to have a nice guided stroll in the Jewish quarter as well, without visiting the museum and synagogue, so no entrance tickets to be paid, no hearing devices in this case. My wife and I had a wonderful tour of the Jewish Museum, the Great Synagogue and the Jewish Ghetto with Sara Terracina. The whole experience was fantastic and highly recommended. The fact that Sara is a member of the Jewish community with personal ties to the area added enormously to the experience and made the whole tour one to remember.

Sara was an AMAZING tour guide! She is so knowledgeable because the neighborhood is literally her community. Our tour ended up being private, because the other 2 people canceled. We felt so connected to the history and Jewish community and learned so much about how the Jews influenced Roman history. Highly recommend for anyone, but especially Jews interested in our corner of Rome's history.

A wonderful tour experience with Sara. She was so knowledgeable about the history of Jews in the city. The temple was extraordinarily beautiful. We highly recommend.

This tour with Sarah was fantastic! It was one of the best tours we have ever been on. Sarah was very friendly and made you feel like you have known her for years. The information she gave us was so interesting and informative. She told us all about the history of the Jews in Rome and the current political situation in Rome regarding the Jewish population. The artifacts and synagogue were very beautiful. I highly recommend this tour

Last month while in Rome, we had a handful of tours. But this Jewish Ghetto tour with Sara was right at the top...and that is quite the flag-waving compliment considering the excellence of our Roman tours. Richly steeped in history, papal politics, social injustice, culture, and, most especially, Jewish endurance, every minute of the tour was as interesting as it was moving. Sara, our guide, was outstanding. Her impressively deep knowledge -- able to answer all of our pesky questions -- was matched by her kindness, enthusiasm, and gift for sharing the fascinating and complex history of Jews in Rome over the millennia. It is imperative that we continue to share and honor this history.
