Our cooking class will make the authentic Greek Moussaka dish and Spanakopita pie by opening your phyllo pastry (Spinach pie). We will make two classic traditional pies: Spinach pie and Milk pie. In addition to making homemade pies, we will prepare Greek island-inspired salad with cherry tomatoes aromatized with aged local vinegar and Greek yogurt tzatziki sauce. Our kitchen is a few steps from Monastiraki square in the funky neighborhood of Psirri. I'll wait for you there, on the rooftop terrace with Acropolis views. We'll start preparations and chat to break the ice and talk about Greek and Mediterranean cuisine; then, I'll show you the ingredients we'll need. Then the cooking class can begin! When we are finished, we will cook, eat, and savor our food together with amazing views of the Acropolis monuments and Parthenon temple lit at night and the vivid center of Athens overlooking the dome of Aghios Dimitrios church. We don't have a gluten-free option. Vegetarians are welcome!

Spyros was very entertaining and educational throughout the course and made sure to include everyone in the lessons. We learned a lot about Greek food in general throughout the night. We made 5 traditional Greek dishes: Moussaka, Spanikopita, Galitopita (a Lemon custard dessert), Tzatziki, and a Greek salad. The view from the rooftop was lovely and Spyros kept the conversation going through dinner. We definitely recommend this experience for any who want to experience authentic Greek cooking in an intimate environment!

This cooking class was one of the highlights of our month visit to Greece! Chef Stamatis was fabulous in how he facilitated the class and we all ended up with so much delicious food. One of the best parts is to finish feeling like I can follow the recipes at home and they will be just as tasty!

This was the best cooking class I’ve taken. Stam was funny, engaging, and ensured everyone had tasks to do throughout the experience. Eating on the rooftop overlooking the Acropolis was a nice bonus.

The Greek Cooking Class in Athens at the Artist Boutique Hotel included a Rooftop Dinner with Acropolis View. This was so much fun and a highlight of our trip to Greece. Stamm was a great chef. He was funny, and told many stories and you could tell he really enjoyed what he did. I had never taken a cooking class before, and I would do it again. You won't be sorry.

It was an amazing expedience cooking with chef Stamatis. He is a master at Greek cuisine. Chef made sure everyone had a chance to help with the preparations. Whether you’re a newbie or skilled he made you feel welcomed. The highlight of the evening was getting to eat our prepared meal with Chef Stamatis on the rooftop of the restaurant. Highly recommend this experience!! . Loved it!!

My husband and I took this class in late May 2025 and had a wonderful time! We both love Greek food and wanted to learn more about preparing traditional dishes. There were 12 people in the class with Chef Stamatis which was the perfect size group. We were all able to participate in the many dishes we prepared while learning about the Greek culture! The kitchen was perfect both in size and cleanliness with everything prepped for us. The final touch was our rooftop dining view while enjoying the delicious food we had prepared! This is definitely a must do while in Athens!

They 100% earned all five stars! Thank for a fun, informative and awesome night!! We attended with our three college age children and they also all loved the experience! As an added plus, we finally learned (after many attempts) we FINALLY now have a good tzatziki recipe!
