Athens Greece Full Day private tour

Best day ever! We learned so much and having just our small group we actually got to picot and choose a different site that was much more interesting to us. Helen….. she is amazing!!! So knowledgeable! I cannot say enough about this tour and having a Driver and the archaeological guide it gives you more than you will ever realize until you do it ❤️

What a great day! Michael (in the white button-down shirt below) was the best host for us as he spent the day showing us Athens' amazing highlights and giving us historical background on them. LOVED the private-guided tour...just our family and Michael. We didn't have to worry about transportation or finding the best things to see and arranging what to do when. Michael took care of it all. He shared a wealth of knowledge, from the oldest facts to present-day culture. He was kind, professional, funny, relaxed, and immediately felt like a family friend. The tour was a very full day, and having our own private car to experience it in was awesome! We never felt hurried, which is much appreciated. We learned tons while taking in all the sites. We also had time to explore as just our family which was fun and appreciated. In addition to seeing exactly what we had hoped to, Michael took us to a wonderful local bakery to enjoy coffee and breakfast as our second stop before heading into the Augora and it's surrounding archeological sites. We def needed the protein for walking and drinks for hydration. He thought of everything! He also arranged lunch reservations for us midday at a great, non-touristy restaurant. The food was mouth-watering and we were thankful for air conditioning. Truly, lunch was so tasty, the service was great, and the complimentary ice cream at the end was a welcome bonus! We would've never known of, or found, this place on our own. Another bonus was Michael taking us to the changing of the guard at the Presidential Palace. What a fascinating experience to watch, and Michael knew exactly where I should stand with my camera for the best angle. He was right! :) We've traveled a lot on our own around the world, but this tour took out all the effort of creating a highlight day of Athens ourselves. We just hopped in the crispy cold car (with cold bottled water on board), and enjoyed all the sights, their history and making a new friend. Seriously, not having to navigate a rental car, crowded tour bus, or hop-on hop-off bus schedule was more than worth it! We also got to see some out-of-the-way spots with rich history, as well as (per my request) pop into a tiny Greek Orthodox service in progress. What a treat! We highly recommend this tour - and ask for Michael! He's the best guide and we would do this again in a heartbeat. Super great day!!!

Tour was great. Very courteous and informative driver. Restaurant he chose for lunch was wonderful, delicious home made Greece food. Highly recommended this tour and this driver. Kept us supplied with cold water throughout our time with him.

This was a full-day tour of Athens, with Michael as our driver/guide and Helen as our licensed guide. Pick-up at the port was without a hitch. Helen took us into the sites while Michael waited for us in the van. Helen (and Michael) were very good; however, we spent about twice the amount of time in the Acropolis as agreed to prior to entering the site. Not so good on a hot day! MIchael/Helen selected a very nice vegan restaurant for lunch for us.

Very friendly and knowledgeable guide and driver. Very flexible with route. Showed all major sites. Excellent English!

What a great day! Our driver, George, was fantastic… always on time picking us up from sites and knew his stuff. Our guide, Stefano, was incredibly well informed about every site in Athens and the history dating back thousands of years. The van was very nice and we were so glad we weren’t on one of this large buses or audio tours for the masses.

A lot of walking is involved but that was expected of Athens. Our driver was at the port before the agreed time. Vehicle was very large and comfortable. The driver assigned to us, Panos, was the best we ever had in our years of traveling. He was very knowledgeable about Athens and its history. He explained everything to us before we reached the tourist spots, gave us enough time to roam around and we sent him a message in Whatsapp and he was there to pick us up in less than 5 min. He even brought us to a great restaurant where we ate authentic Greek food and everything was yummy. For the price we paid, it was really good. Cheaper than the cruise line’s port excursion and netter experience.

Excellent guide. Although I was not feeling well he was very empathetic and took us to all the highlights of Athens and then recommended the best Greek restaurant that food was delicious and atmosphere was authentically cozy Greek

Michael was amazing! Our middle child has autism so that is why we booked a private tour. He was not only accommodating, but he was kind and empathetic. He was so knowledgeable and a joy to be around.

Do your homework! We had expectations of getting a guided tour. Ultimately we ended up with more of driver only. We visited each site on the itinerary, but our driver stayed with the van and we were left to visit the site on our own.
