Delphi Full Day Private Tour from Athens

Fotis was an excellent guide and brilliant driver. He's very knowledgeable about Greek history and sights along the drive from Athens to Delphi. We got taken to a fantastic family-run taverna with excellent food and views. The minivan was comfortable and on time, allowing us to beat the crowds and the heat. With a small tour, we were able to request stops and alter the timing, which was helpful as we had young kids.

Our private transfer to Delphi was a great experience. The villages near the Delphi museum and ruins are picturesque. The ruins themselves are fascinating and deliver spectacular views. Our driver, Michael was friendly, accommodating and professional. Michael also made a great recommendation for lunch. Highly recommended!

Our family enjoyed this tour. We scheduled it at the last minute when another tour operator cancelled our previously scheduled tour. The guide drove us to Delphi while providing some interesting information during the trip and pointing out some historical sites along the way. We then bought tickets and toured Delphi on our own, which was nice because it allowed us to see things at our own pace. Walking around Delphi was pretty strenuous, but at the end, we had a nice, cool car to return to. We enjoyed this trip.

Giannis was a fabulous tour guide and very knowledgeable. He went out of his way to make sure our experience was a good one, he was also very helpful. It was a beautiful ride through the countryside to see the archaeological site of Delphi. Lunch was fabulous and with a great view.

Costa is an excellent driver and tour guide. He is knowledgeable about the destination and about the tour. He has a depth of knowledge in history and he imparts this on the way to the site so you understand what you are seeing when you are there. He knows how long the tours last and where to drop you off and pick you up. He made reservations for us at a local restaurant. The dinner was excellent! We recommend Costa for your next tour!

This tour might not be for everyone due to its length and physical activity. It is essential to know that the one-day Delphi tour requires climbing and comfortable shoes to walk on uneven steps and grabble. We drove for 2 hours before making a quick stop for the bathroom and coffee break. You may or may not encounter additional tourist buses onsite, making it challenging to make it a quick stop. After the break, we drove one more hour to Delphi. We had a great tour guide who explained everything and enhanced the experience. At the end of the guided portion, we were given 45 minutes to explore. We chose between climbing and then returning to the bottom or slowly climbing down and having time for a restroom stop. Bring water, sunglasses, a hat, a jacket, or anything you think you might need on top of the mountain to keep you comfortable. There's a museum next to the site that has interesting artifacts from the time. At least in my case, it took us 30 minutes or so to enter the museum due to the high volume of tourists - and it is not busy season yet. The entrance was somewhat unorganized since people failed to stand in line properly.
