Meteora by Train: Sacred Monasteries & Greek Honey Escape

This Excursion to Meteora with lunch included, was really Magnificent! The Tour-Guide, Ms. Riki, and the Bus-Driver, Mr. Giorgos and Mr. Kostas, they were really very professional and so efficient!! We really recommend this tour with them very much!! All the places they took us to take photos, were the best spots of the area! The places they chose to be visited were just fantastic! Amazing! And the Restaurant they took us for lunch was just delicious! Real Greek Typical Food! So many dishes to chose from! The narratives and knowledge about the area were just outstanding! The tour-guide, Riki, is so knowledgeable, very kind and very polite Lady!! And she was always prone to answer any questions we had! And the bus-driver was really an excellent and professional and very careful driver at all times! We highly recommend this Excursion with them! This tour has been the highlight of my Greece trip. The long drive from Athens was totally worth it and seeing the incredible views were magical, a UNESCO gem indeed! As if I was transported to a different world! Visiting the two monasteries were also remarkable. Huge thanks to our knowledgeable and amazing Eva our guide, Kostas and Leonidas our incredible drivers during my tour and the lovely lady who was in Athens during the early morning pick ups. Thanks so much, I appreciate you all! And again, Eva, thank you for the wonderful photos you took of me. I will definitely be back to visit Meteora and recommend it to my friends!

The Meteora tour was really memorable. The landscape was absolutely stunning! We visited 2 monasteries & it was very interesting. The guide was very good & knowledgeable. The lunch served was also good. Really worth taking the trip, despite the far distance from Athens (abt 4 hrs each way).

Guides and drivers were great. Visiting the Monasteries was a memorable and a fun experience! 👍🏽👍🏽. I have tips for you though. Double check the opening days of the Monasteries. The larger one has some days it is closed. Also, pack your own lunch. The place they took us to served cold and undercooked food. I am still glad we did this tour. And I do recommend it if you have an entire day to spare. 👍🏽👍🏽

It was perfect because we had lunch a lot and the visit was so complete. We entered in two monastheres. I definetely recommend to take this visit.

Absolutely stunning, can’t miss this trip to Meteora, especially with the team Riki/Costas/Leonidas! The views are breathtaking to say the least, and the knowledge and attention of the team was really good, Riki was especially very attentive and dedicated to our best experience, coupled with a steady driving to avoid us being road blocked due to manifestations! Five stars well deserved!

Ours was a day trip. Our journey began from the Athens Central Station (Larissa) in a comfortable bus. Had a lunch stop at a local restaurant in Kastraki - where we were served with a good meal. Then we were joined by our guide, Maria and proceeded to Meteora. As our bus climbed up the winding road to the monasteries, the unique beauty of the area revealed itself. Amazing examples of architecture built on steep rocks and towering cliffs and Nature’s art!! The interior of a monastery itself was an example of aesthetics but quiet and serene. We were to see the interior of 3 monasteries but missed entry to the first one due to our bus’s late arrival! That’s the only reason for which I have rated 4. Maria’s lively informative commentary laced with humour, made the journey entertaining. Meteora is a “ must-do” activity for tourists!
