We and another couple from the US met at the Bakery Liberte, Turbigo where we were joined by our instructor, "Took". After an included pastry and beverage breakfast at the front of the bakery, we got to see and learn about the backrooms of the bakery, it's daily operations and commercial ovens. Our bread dough was already formed, but we shaped, cut and squeezed it following Took's instructions, creating baguettes, small loaves, twisted loaves, and round loaves. Then we put them in the oven, and while waiting as they baked, we filled financier molds and shaped croissants. My wife is an experienced baker, so she didn't learn much new but had a good time because Took kept things fun. Us other 3 learned quite a bit. This was truly my initiation to bread making. We left with the bread we had baked, and even after sharing some it with the homeless and hotel staff, we still ate bread for 3 days. It was pretty darn good too!

Not very interactive, mostly watching a chef make bread. I wish it allowed us to make bread ourselves and explain more

Great experience. Very authentic and friendly. Thanks to our guide for interesting facts about croissants!

This was very expensive for what it was. The tour was great and informative and guide was lovely but it was expensive.

This tour is an excellent opportunity to be in a busy French bakery and to watch and learn about the daily business of a bakery and to meet the bakers. The background of the essential daily staples of baguettes and croissants.

Informative. The guide was friendly and showed us many aspects of the bakery but it is not an interactive tour

We enjoyed learning about the bakeries and especially the rules regarding baguettes. Wish we could have worked with some dough and produced our own baguettes but our guide was informative and interesting and we did get bread and croissants. Just a nice alternative to a museums tour.

Eating hot bread out of the oven was amazing. We loved learning how to shape the dough and the ingredients we would need to try to make our own. Great experience!

An excellent view of a working french bakery. From yeast to flour to rising dough- 24 hours for a proper baguette. Then watching how the dough is rolled and cooked. Then a tour downstairs where the patisseries are made along with specialist items. And all sparkingly presented by a knowledgeable lady who filled in many details. And the staff were so welcoming. Despite a 3am start. An excellent time and a really good tour- well worth it.

We did a behind the scenes bakery visit. It was a very small bakery, you could see a bit of how they do the baguette and very little about patisserie. You can see only what they are doing at the moment, so when we were there there was not much to see. They were not doing croissants only some little puffs. They gave us to taste a piece of baguette and a small piece of cake.To take with us they gave us a cold baguette and a cold croissant, nothing just from the oven. The tour was less than 45 mins. The guide was nice though. Overall, too expensive for the experience, I will not reccomend it.
