We had a wonderful day! Pedro is an excellent guide and very knowledgeable! Everything was extremely smooth and on time. Pedro took care of us through out the entire day. We loved it and recommend it to any who wants to learn more about Nicaragua!

We had a bad experience, the sailsman never warned us about the lenght of the time we would have to spent in the bus, 12 hours on a 16 hours day. He sold us a french tour wich was not true. The bus use for the trip was inadéquate with no leg space and unconfortable seat and the breakfast included in the tour was not good. Fortunatly the guide and the activities in itself were good but only lasted 4 ours in total including lunch time.

First off, this is a long day; however, don't let that deter you at all! We thought this was an amazing tour! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and informative. There was so much to do and see! Granada was a darling town and we loved the carriage ride!

This private tour was AMAZING!! Paul and Miguel were fantastuc guides. They made sure we had a fantastic experience. Miguel was very knowledgeable about Nicaragua, providing rich history along with off the beaten path places to eat. The food was sooo good. Highly recommend!!

We did enjoy this trip, but I would like to point out a few things. The driver that picked us up from our hotel did not speak English. Fortunately, there was someone in our group who spoke Spanish otherwise we would not have known what to do in the complicated border crossing or end of day procedure. The tour guide in Nicaragua spoke perfect English, was very helpful, and explained everything and pointed out the interesting spots along the way. Some of the planned stops on our itinerary were not what we had expected. We did not visit the Masaya Crafts Market, or have lunch there. When we arrived in Granada we were told we had to pay $10.00 US per person for a horse and buggy tour. This was an unexpected expense not on the itinerary. Four of us were "jammed" into one buggy, my husband and I facing backwards, which made it quite difficult to see the sights. As per the itinerary we paid for, we were expecting to have 2 hours exploring Granada and we had a planned walking tour arranged. The buggy driver made a quick stop at one church, not the Catedral De Granada, so therefore, we were not able to "ascend the stairs and reach the roof of the church" to enjoy a panoramic city view and the surrounding area. He dropped us off at a local restaurant, where we met the tour guide for lunch. We were taken to a Chocolate Museum, not on the itinerary, which was fine, but they do try to pressure you into buying something. We were really looking forward to "a one hour boat ride on Lake Nicaragua viewing the Nicaraguan islets around sunset." The boat ride actually lasted about 20 minutes with no sunset in sight. The tour guide took several group photos which were to be forwarded to us, we have not yet received any.

Great way to see Nicaragua. We originally booked the shared tour but due to not enough people booking we had to make the decision to pay for an upgrade to the private tour or cancel - this was only communicated the evening before the trip so beware this could happen when booking. We were picked up at 5am and driven to the boarder. Boarder control was quick and easy and we meet our guide Gaspar at the Nicaragua boarder. He fast tracked us through and we headed off for our breakfast and the tour. Gasper was an amazing guide, he was so knowledgeable and we certainly learnt a lot about the country and he made the day really enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this trip for anyone who wants to visit Nicaragua but is short on time

We booked this tour with the Nexus representative at the Occidental Papagayo resort where we were staying for January 16th. The main reason for us was to see the historical city of Granada as we were told that apx.2 hours will be spend there. This unfortunately, to our disappointment, did not happened. Our tour guide kept changing the order of the itinerary while we were still on a bus and told us that we will do the tour of the city on carriages with horses which will be $20 per couple. Once we finally arrived to Granada, we first stopped at a cigar factory for apx.15 min. but we were not given any information about cigar making. Afterwards everybody, 24 people in our group, got on the horse carriages that were waiting outside. The ride took apx. 35 min. The carriage driver spoke little English and only pointed to us a couple of churches on the way so we didn't really get any information about the city sites and it's history. It all felt very rushed. The rest of the tour was better, we enjoyed the boat ride on the lake, Nicaragua, visit to the Masaya active volcano and a stop at the Catarina view point. While it was an overall interesting experience to visit Nicaragua, we were disappointed with our tour guide and his lack of knowledge and explanations of sites we visited. The other downside was the extremely long ride on not very comfortable bus on mostly bad roads.

This was an absolute tour experience of a lifetime! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone considering it. You see a good portion of the country, all the amazing sites and even get a sense for what is like in Nicaragua all in one day. The experience at the border feels a little like an escape room, but it went over much more smoothly than it looked. Be prepared ahead of time to buy souvenirs in Catalina. It is a short stop with so much to see in the half hour you are there. Cawachinga!

A fantastic full-day tour to see the highlights of Nicaragua! Both guides were extremely communicative and helpful so it made crossing the Costa Rica-Nicaragua Border on our own a breeze! Lots of time spent in the van but it was worth it to see beautiful views, an active volcano, the charming town of Grenada and a lake cruise. Highly recommend!
