Tangier Unveiled: Iconic Sights & Secret Alleyways Tour

Abdel was perfect. He met picked us up at Tangier Ville port and tailored sights for our short 5-hour visit. Our group of four (ages 18-70) was transported by van and driver (Mohammed) to multiple locations. Along the way, Abdel highlighted points of interest and historical landmarks. He graciously answered our many questions on Moroccan history, government, economy, education, agriculture, religions, traditions and customs. We stopped at Cap Spartel lighthouse and park, had a traditional light lunch at Cafe Le Mirage, toured the incredible kasbah and medina, and made purchases at the Traditional Art Gallery - all before hurrying back to catch our ferry at 1500. We had a wonderful day with Abdel. He took us to areas of Tangier that we knew nothing about and really enjoyed. The camel ride was kind of touristy but lots of fun. Walking with him through the Kasbah and Souk were so much more interesting than going alone. He gave us lots of history as well as knowledge of life in Tangier. We would highly recommend him and his tour. Well worth the money.

My wife and I spent a wonderful day in Tangier with Abdel and his driver Mohamed. We told him what we wanted in the tour in advance, and some limitations on our mobility. We were met in the port, as we got off the cruise ship and whisked away away through the city and into the countryside, all the while explaining the history of Tangier. Abdel grew up in the old town area and is very knowledgeable in the long history of Tangier and Morocco. We returned to the old town and saw everything we asked for, had a wonderful lunch, and shopped for a couple of things that my wife had asked about. We did have to listen to a rug sales pitch, but they were polite when we told them that we weren’t interested. We inquired about the long history of Morocco and its political and religious views, and received thoughtful and in depth answers. We appreciated this time since it gave us a much better understanding of the Moroccan people than we get from the news media. Abdel is an excellent guide and we agree with the hundreds of outstanding reviews he has received. Book him, you won’t regret it.

We have done Moghit's Tangier highlights tour twice before and it was great both times. He was able to modify it enough so it was new and interesting both times. It is a fantastic tour with something for everyone. If you have not seen Tangier do yourself a favor and book a day with Moghit. This time we visted both Chefcchaoen and Tangier. It was a beautiful 2 hour drive throught the Moroccan countryside to Chefchaoen from Tangier. The "Blue City" is both pictureque and rich in history. Our guide, Moghit, is extremely knowlegable and thoughtful in his plan. We had a window into the Berber people and photos to last a lifetime. He customized our trip to our desires. He is ever kind and patient. This was our 3rd tour with Moghit. Yes, he is that good.

This tour was amazing! Abdelmoghit was such a knowledgeable guide showing us not only the normal highlights but also the hidden sights among the small, narrow streets of town. We had the most wonderful day exploring Tangier with Abdelmoghit as our guide. From the moment we met him, his warmth and patience set the tone for a truly memorable experience. When there was a mix-up with our ferry and he had to wait, he handled it with the patience of a camel, (something we learned:-))calm, understanding, and completely unflustered. He gave us a real taste of Morocco, taking us off the typical tourist path and showing us authentic parts of Tangier. Traveling with two teenagers can be a challenge, but Abdelmoghit kept everyone engaged and interested throughout the day. His stories, knowledge, and sense of humor really brought the city to life. By the end, it felt less like we were on a guided tour and more like we had spent the day with a friend. Majid is a kind, knowledgeable, and obliging guide who made our day in Tangier unforgettable. He took us to every site we requested, including Cap Spartel, the Phoenician tombs, the Kasbah, and the Medina, all while sharing fascinating history. We had an incredible experience in Tangier thanks to Abdel, who was the perfect tour guide from start to finish. He was responsive and helpful even before our trip, assisting us with ferry selection and answering all of our questions. When our scheduled ferry to Tangier was canceled the morning of our tour, Abdel immediately reassured us that he would adjust to our delay. Sure enough, he was waiting for us at the port with his longtime friend and driver, ready to begin our adventure. Our day began with a driving tour of the city, where Abdel pointed out landmarks and homes while sharing fascinating historical context. We stopped at a wonderful café for tea and pastries before heading to Cap Spartel and the Caves of Hercules. One of the highlights for our family was getting to ride camels—my son’s favorite part of the entire vacation. Back in the city, Abdel led us on a fantastic walking tour of the Kasbah and Medina, and his knowledge brought the area to life. He then guided us to an excellent restaurant where we enjoyed authentic tagines. When our return ferry was also canceled, Abdel went above and beyond: he returned with us to the Medina, pointed out the best shops, and stayed by our side until it was finally time to return to the port for a later ferry. As a former teacher, Abdel has a gift for explaining history and culture in an engaging way. He was open to discussing everything from politics to religion, and it’s clear that he loves his hometown of Tangier. Thanks to him, we didn’t just see the city—we truly experienced it. I couldn’t recommend Abdel more highly.

They were thoughtful and easygoing while being incredibly insightful and knowledgeable. We enjoyed experiences outside of the city center as well as visiting the Kasbah and Medina.
