Ayutthaya UNESCO Sunset Cruise: Private Temple Journey

Highly recommend this experience. The temples were beautiful. The lunch was delicious. Ice was the best guide. He even bought us some local treats which were delicious. We booked a tour with him for the next day too and can’t wait.

This tour was wonderful!! Our tour guide was Poppy who was an outstanding guide. It was a seamless tour—our car was always waiting when we finished sightseeing and Poppy told us all about the history and functions of the shrines. Poppy called the restaurant ahead so our food was ready right when we arrived and sat down. The food was AMAZING!! My daughter loved the chicken dish so much that she made us order a second one. Poppy asked us our preference and ordered the food ahead of time for us. The coconut soup was probably the best I’ve ever had in all my life. Poppy took videos of us at all the picture spots and made a video for us which she sent to me before the tour ended. She is so thoughtful and funny and welcoming and we loved our time with her. I highly recommend going on this tour—it made our day so easy and took all the hard work out of our hands.

Poppy, our guide during this amazing journey, made us feel like family. Her knowledge of the history , architecture, and local culture and customs made this visit one we will treasure. Her genuine commitment to share her knowledge of Thailand was greatly appreciated.

Mr. Adam was a terrific and very knowledgeable guide - we learned a lot and had a great day! Also Mr. Lucky was a very good and safe driver, which was especially appreciated on the stormy return trip. The lunch spot was delicious. Would definitely recommend!

We had a pleasant and interesting trip to Ayutthaya. The guide was knowledgeable and good company. We really enjoyed it.

Tour honestly isn’t worth the money they charge. Very bland tour overall without many activities at each site. Overall, it simply wasn’t worth the price.

There may be different tours - ours picked us up at the train station pier and took us to three temples/monasteries that can be accessed by water. We got out at each and had ~20 minutes to look around before the tour resumed. After the Third (and best) temple, the boat continues around the large island that is home to the historic park and dropped us back at the pier. I have some caveats: you need to be very nimble to get in and out of the long boat - stepping over seats etc. At the third temple, there wasn’t even a dock - we just go out on the river bank. You will need to buy a 50 bhat ticket to see the third temple. There is no narration so we didn’t really know what we were looking at. The first two are busy complexes and it doesn’t seem important to see them at sunset but the final set of ruins was very beautiful in the low sun. Bottom line- wasn’t expensive and fun to be on the water but not a professional tour.

Adam was very knowledgeable about the temples and history. Definitely recommend. Enjoyed the river cruise.around the island to the temple grounds. Fantastic to see the size of the structures.

We really enjoyed this tour and had two tours with Thailand Insight Travel which were both fantastic. We very much enjoyed the commentary of our tour guide Adam as well as the convenience of having private driver Bond. These ruins and temples were very much worth seeing.
