Bangkok's Best: Luxury Chao Phraya Dinner Cruise VIP

Luxury Dinner Cruise on Chao Phraya Princess River with pick up was fantastic. The driver picked us up from our hotel, collected our tickets for the cruise for us and said he would be waiting at the pier for our return. Seeing Bangkok River by night was amazing. Very beautiful. Our driver (I think his name was Ahmet) sorry I can’t remember exactly, was fantastic. Made the whole experience easy, enjoyable and something to remember.

The cruise was ok with medium kind of quality food. Nothing special. Before the cruise we were picked up at the hotel and at the dock we had to wait 1 1/2 hour before we could board - Really not ok - Very bad planned.

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience! Food not bad, wine was good, music was good and fun to dance to. Only issue I had was I booked a ticket with a transfer to and from my hotel but last minute, they told us they couldn't transfer us because their transport was fully booked, so we were forced to find our own way to get to the place. Also, instructions on process prior to boarding was very vague and could be improved by being clearer.

The check-in procedure was quick and efficient, providing a dedicated table and seat number. The boarding was somewhat chaotic but this was more due to the people trying to board than the company! The food was a very varied and reasonable buffet. The cruise provided excellent views of the flood lit temples and was well worth doing.

The tour started with our pick-up that was scheduled for 6. We called at 6:15, and was told 6:00 was an estimate and that the real pick-up time was between 6 and 6:30. We arrived at about 7, so had to wait about 45 minutes to board. As far as the cruise itself, the view of Bangkok at night was beautiful. The food was good, and there was plenty of it. The entertainment was not great and it was very loud. In addition, it was complete chaos boarding the boat and getting food. Everyone was just pushing each other around, and the staff did nothing to manage it. It did not need to be as chaotic as it was. Management just needs to put a little effort into organizing the crowd. I would definitely recommend investing in a more exclusive cruise if you are looking for a pleasant and relaxing experience.

While the cruise and meal themselves were fabulous, we almost missed the cruise by 45 minutes due to lack of communication from our driver. We were collected from our hotel at 6pm as promised but waited 15min in the van before he drove to the next hotel in rush hour traffic. We waited and waited and a group arrived, then waited longer for the final group. It turned out they had been in the lobby from 6-6:45pm waiting for 6pm pick up, but there was zero communication and the driver was not in uniform so they were all standing around until somebody realised he must have been waiting for them! We were then stuck in gridlock traffic with the cruise scheduled to leave at 7pm. Nobody could tell us if we would make the cruise or not and we were met with awkward laughs or no response at all when we asked several times. When traffic cleared we were driven at breakneck speed that a couple of times made us gasp out loud due to the near misses with other cars. We arrived at 7:45pm and we supposed they had managed to hold the boat for us as nobody had boarded yet. The rest of the night was fantastic, with delicious food and great entertainment and beautiful sights to be seen. It was a questionable and worrying start to what turned out to be a great evening.

Got there early which allowed us to see River City center. It was so easy as well to change tables. We had a table reserved but when I asked for one on the top deck side so we can see the buildings at night, it was so easy and the service clerk was very accommodating. Great food, great service! We definitely would do this experience again! To be able to see the temples at night was one my favorite parts!!

A bit of a scramble to get on as the tickets were colour coded for different boarding times and boats with nobody to sort the chaos. On board the tables were clearly numbered and spacious . The food quality was excellent with cuisine for all tastes and nationalities. The cruise was very good and well timed the boat was very comfortable and relaxing. Would highly recommend as a ‘must do’ for all visitors especially those with limited time.
