Unforgettable Sicily: 10-Day Private Bespoke Island Tour

In just 10 days, we covered all of Sicily’s highlights—from walking through a volcanic lava tube, visiting incredible beaches, visiting wineries, exploring ancient castles and Greek monuments. Each hotel was centrally located, and many were beautifully restored historic palaces. One was so old it didn’t even have an elevator—but it didn’t matter, because the staff handled all of our luggage with a smile. An extraordinary trip from start to finish.

This was the most amazing tour I've ever experienced. I don't believe I could ever top this tour. Each day was an experience. Each day I thought this was the best day. No the next day was better. Our group tour with Best Things to Do In Sicily, BTTDIS, travel service was a resounding success. So much so in fact that my life here in the US is ruined! Only in the very best way possible. Goodbye bad wine and mindless trips to Walmart, good riddance to idling in general! While I had never been to Sicily before, I vowed many moons ago that I would return to Italy after having spent two months traveling around the UK and Western Europe in my college days. Hear me, I only desired to revisit Italy but I had yet to see Spain! This summer I spent a month in Europe, first Spain and then Sicily. In all my years of quiet living and striving in Jacksonville, Florida, my path eventually crossed that of a fellow originally from Spain, Carlos, who talked incessantly about the greatness and wonders of all things Spain having never seen Italy. Yet I remained steadfast insisting my preference for Italy! Suddenly this summer, we found the time and money to visit both countries and begin what I hoped would be a first-hand account of the merits of both! AND we succeeded. While some might say our decisions were rash from an outside perspective not knowing the long-term planning or should I say wishing that culminated in our travels. I literally made the decision to join the September 2025 Sicily Lovers group tour in very short order, very uncharacteristic of me. It was imperative that I see Ragusa and Modica along with all the coastal heavy hitter spots such as Palermo in the Northwest and other points along the Northern and Eastern coasts including Cefalu, Noto, Ortygia and Taormina...as I am no longer looking just to visit. I literally intend to relocate to Italy and have been leaning toward Sicily in general of late. Was this the trip of a lifetime? Nope, as I am just getting started! It is instead a perfectly beautiful introduction to Sicily! We had some issues in Spain not having a specific agenda or itinerary, so it was mandatory to me that we hit Italian ground running with a plan in hand. I found BTTDIS on Facebook this June out of the blue, maybe just Meta meddling. Regardless, in less than 48 hours, I had reserved the last two spaces traveling in September 2025 not once regretting or doubting my choice. I am typically not an impulsive person, but I had done a great deal of research into Sicilian tours in general. A tour with Gianca and company literally encompasses all the best things to do in Sicily! Instead of offering a variety of group tours to choose from, they have chosen to focus on one smart, streamlined and well-oiled excursion. And I have to say, tour director Gianca has so much enthusiasm it’s almost as if it was his first visit too! If you are so inclined, you’ll know the exact plan for the day and the food served. Oh, my THE FOOD! And the WINE! If your diet has special needs, no problem! Room assignments are doled out most efficiently upon arrival. The accommodations are BEAUTIFUL and COMFORTABLE! Also expect suggestions of things to do in your spare time. There is even a scout on team that checks the roadways and byways before departure to ensure we aren’t en-snarled in any traffic. But one outstanding benefit, nearly not even detectable because it unfolds so seamlessly, is to always bypass the lines at various attractions after just a bit of staging. Our experience at Agrigento especially reinforced the advantage of group travel with BTTDIS. I mean literally no waiting and no delays. This trip runs like clockwork. Thank you Gianca, Rosella, Rita, all our chef/hosts, restaurateurs as well as the professional tour guides and drivers. We were in the best hands! If you’re dreaming of scheduling this trip, just say YES please! Come see how beautiful life in Sicily can be! You deserve it! Do not wait like we did! Life is short and you will not find a better value period! Today, I am actively planning my move where side trips to all parts of Italy as well as Spain become simpler! Three friends and I joined Sicily Lovers tour with 16 other people for a 12 day tour around Sicily. We had two great guides with local guides added in some towns. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and felt we were treated to experiences that are not available to everyone. Scenery superb, culinary experiences out of this world, being welcomed into historical homes it all was extraordinary.

From start to finish, Gianca, Rosella and Rita provided a unique experience (reluctant to call it a tour... doesn't do it justice). We felt like we were traveling with friends, it felt that personal. You can feel the care that was put into every aspect of the trip. Great hotels, great guides in each city, so much delicious food!, expert bus driver, and wonderful hosts. Add to that the wonderful Sicilian landscape, and this tour is a home run!

Fantastic! Very well organized with the right balance of free time and organized touring. Wanted a small group tour and this was perfect. Gianca & Rita were with us the entire time with enthusiasm and energy. Because they are from the area they were able to provide an intimate view of their beautiful Sicilian culture and landscape. We had access to local flavors, businesses and homes. It was amazing! Every guide we encountered was professional and knowledgeable in their respective area. The small group allowed us to meet new friends whom we hope to stay in touch with. The hotels were very nice and comfortable and all the planned meals were sumptuous. Knowing about the local flavors and understanding the history of the meals was another treat of the small group. Local restaurants and local chefs treated us to some delicious meals, wishing I had a plate of Pasta a la Norma right now. Missing Granita and wonderful wine. Highly recommend this tour!

Gianca and Rosella put together a perfect trip to Sicily for my wife and I. The drivers, especially Mirko and Dario were pros, the guides, Deborah, Giacoma and Isabella were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and our guide Eleanora was one of the highlights of our entire trip. The accommodations they chose were outstanding. From the first time I met Gianca to the last day of our trip to Sicily I knew I was in good hands and we can't wait to go back to Sicily and my first call will be to Gianca and Rosella to plan our return trip to Sicily.

We had so many amazing experiences, my favorite being the cooking class with Massimo, but also our guides were so well informed and educated and made our journey very informative and fun. Our last day excursion on the sailboat was just so special and unique enjoying our son‘s birthday at Sunset.

The Sicily Lovers tour is more than just a sight seeing tour of Sicily. The activities included were truly once-in-a-lifetime experiences we will treasure forever. Each experience was so personal and our guides and hosts made us feel like we were special and treated like family. The way the tour is designed encouraged all of us to interact with everyone on the tour and truly get to know each other personally. We built friendships that will last a lifetime, even though we were from all over the US. We are still sharing stories and pictures with each other, long after the tour has ended. The activities on the tour included many things we wouldn't have been able to do without our guides connections. We feel truly blessed to have chosen this tour. Each of our guides was outstanding and lead the group in creating such tight bonds. We never felt like we inconvenienced them and they were with us every step of the way, ensuring we had a successful outcome.
