I discovered Mont Travelers when I was reading a Roll Call for a cruise that preceded mine and was also stopping in Kotor. I checked out Mont Travelers on Trip Advisor and after seeing a great rating, I contacted them. After numerous emails with Dimitrij and Aleks of Mont Travelers, I booked a customized private shore excursion for a group of 6 people during our stop in Kotor. Mont Travelers was flexible with the pick-up and drop off times and made sure we returned to the ship in a timely manner. We took their Best of Montenegro day tour. Our guide Djordje (George) and our driver, Mladen, were waiting at the entrance to the port, a short walk from where the ship tendered. The tour climbed the mountains surrounding Kotor and that included negotiating 25 serpentine turns. Mladen was an excellent, considerate driver, who made sure no one got car sick from the many sharp turns. George was very knowledgeable about the political and religious history of Montenegro, and the people as well. The tour was filled with many opportunities to take picturesque photos. The tour had several stops. First, we stopped in the small village of Njegusi, where George took us into a restaurant's smokehouse and he explained the process of making prosciutto and we could see many smoked hams that were aging. We then went to Cetinje (built in 1482 and was the former royal capital of Montenegro), where we walked around the town and visited a small church. David pointed out many significant, well-preserved buildings there. Next, we headed for Budva. Along the way we stopped in Brajci, which had sweeping views of the Budva Riviera. Once in Budva we stopped for lunch and then toured the Old Town of Budva, which was had narrow cobble-stoned streets and an old church. Upon returning to Kotor, we had a guided tour through the Old Town, an interesting walled city. Everyone enjoyed the tour, and I would highly recommend Mont Travelers if you travel to Kotor and Montenegro.

We traveled up the mountain to see beautiful views. Our guide was very flexible and informative. We definitely recommend him to see Kotor in a private tour.

A really excellent, interesting and fun day with Vlado. We visited Kotor and Cetinje and Vlado was one of the best tour guides we have ever had, with an entertaining overview of the towns and in-depth information about Montenegro and its history - there wasn't anything he didn't know. Thoroughly recommend.

Allow I asked several times, our guide refused to take us to a nice restaurant overlooking the bay. He was more interested in showing us his village than doing what we asked. Nice guy but didn't listen to the customers. Very disappointed.

Great tour guide Miroslav. We got to see the best parts of Montenegro and get a taste of lifestyle from our guide. Visiting beaches and mountain tops was excellent. Ran out of time to see the old town of Kotor on returning to the port area. At the end of the tour we were left at a gas station to walk about 500m from the port area. Could have gone the last distance by car but no.

We had a great tour of Montenegro. Andrija was an excellent guide and was very knowledgeable about the area and history of Montenegro. We were able to see a lot in a short period of time.

We spent almost half the time in the vehicle. There is lots of traffic, especially on the beach side of the country. My recommendation is to get off the cruise ship and tour the old city at the port. It is amazing and literally minutes from where you dock/tender in. Bottomline. Way to much time commuting for this tour.

We were met right outside the cruise port by our guide for the day Sanja. She really catered to what we wanted to see and do. Her love of traveling was obvious and she has a lot of pride in her country. She worked around the time frame that we had, made great recommendations, took lots of family pictures and even tailored the music we wanted to listen to. Highly recommend this tour for seeing a lot of the country in a short amount of time!
