Zaanse Schans Express: Windmills, Clogs & Cheese from Amsterdam

Good experience. Reasonable price. Visit length was good. Narration was helpful. Thought the village greatly helped us understand Amsterdam’s history and culture.

The meeting location was super easy to find, the coffee bar at the Doubletree Hotel. Our guide, Claudia was very friendly, knowledgeable and funny! She made the experience enjoyable. The village we visited was adorable, and the history interesting. The Shoe making demonstration was amazing. We tasted about 25-30 different flavors of cheeses as well as a brief description of how the cheese was made. All of the cheese was available for purchase and we were informed that no refrigeration was needed until cheese packaging was opened and which cheese we were allowed to bring into the US. Besides the many windmill photo opportunities we actually were able to go inside a working windmill. I had a great experience and feel like the cost of the tour was well worth it.

Our guide was A-M-A-Z-ING! Her enthusiasm and knowledge made this experience so authentic to us. Had an extra little added sense of excitement during our guided trip and in turn we appreciated our guide’s integrity to keeping this village’s story and identify safe for all who visit. We loved this tour!

Just the right amount of time to capture the essence of an authentic village with cheese, wooden shoes and windmills. Sharon was a fabulous tour guide!

Guide was difficult to understand at times especially since the audio on the coach was broken and there was no fox or other device available.

This was an amazing day with our tour guide Maaike! We loved the tour, learning about windmills and visiting the village with the wooden shoe demonstration and the cheese shop. It was a step back in time and a chance to view Amsterdam through its history. It was a delightful experience!

Travel tour guide was exceptional! Caroline was funny, knowledgeable, full of fun facts and an absolute pleasure to spend our 3 hour tour with.

I enjoyed my tour and tour guide. The village was beautiful and getting to go inside one of the windmills to the observatory deck area was a real treat.
