1. Sand Flats Recreation Area is a popular outdoor recreation destination located just 5 miles from Moab, Utah. It covers over 9,000 acres of red rock terrain and features some of the most stunning natural landscapes in the region. The area is particularly famous for its Slickrock Bike Trail, a 10.5-mile trail that is considered one of the most challenging mountain biking trails in the world. Other popular activities at Sand Flats include hiking, camping, rock climbing, and off-road vehicle driving. The area is also home to several scenic viewpoints and picnic areas.

2. Sand Flats Recreation Area is open year-round, but hours of operation vary depending on the season. From April through October, the recreation area is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. From November through March, the recreation area is open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The recreation area can be reached at (435) 259-2444.

3. To enter Sand Flats Recreation Area, visitors need to purchase a $10 daily pass or a $50 annual pass. Passes can be purchased at the ranger station at the entrance to the recreation area. Visitors can also purchase passes online in advance. Transportation to Sand Flats Recreation Area is available via car or bike. There is no public transportation to the recreation area.
