1. Russell Falls is located in Mount Field National Park, about a 1-hour drive from Hobart. The waterfall is considered one of the most iconic natural attractions in Tasmania. The falls cascade down three tiers, totaling 58 meters in height, and are surrounded by lush rainforest. Visitors can take a leisurely walk to the falls on a well-maintained path, passing by ferns, tall trees, and moss-covered rocks. Wildlife such as wallabies, echidnas, and Tasmanian devils can also be seen in the area. Russell Falls was named after the pastoralist and politician, Lord John Russell.

2. The park is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but the Visitor Centre is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily. The phone number for the Visitor Centre is +61 3 6288 1149.

3. There is no entry fee to Mount Field National Park, but a Parks Pass is required. The pass can be purchased online or at the Visitor Centre. The park is about 80 km northwest of Hobart, and visitors can drive there via the Lyell Highway. Alternatively, there are tour operators that offer trips to Mount Field National Park. Visitors can also catch a shuttle bus from Hobart to the park during peak season (December to April).
