Vibrant Mexico City: Frida, Xochimilco & Coyoacán Adventure
Enjoy some of Mexico City’s must-see spots with our ‘Colors of Mexico’ adventure. Begin in Coyoacan, one of Mexico’s most influential cities. As you wander its tree-lined streets, you’ll learn how this city played a part in historical empires like the Aztecs and the Spanish. Then visit either La Casa Azul or the Casa Kahlo (depending on the selected option). Step into Frida Kahlo’s world through her original home or the innovative new museum, and immerse yourself in the life and art of one of Mexico’s most iconic and original artists. From the inspired art of Frida Kahlo, we’ll head to the eye-catching Xochimilco and board a trajinera - a colorful, gondola-like boat - for a ride through the neighborhood’s famous canals. As you indulge in local treats, your guide will share the incredible details of what makes this area a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Before finishing the tour, walk around North America's oldest university and admire its Central Campus, another World Heritage site.

The energy of our tour guides was warm, welcoming, attentive and accommodating. They were also engaging in our various activities and made sure we were enjoying ourselves.

I understand that Mexico is known for its chaotic traffic, but be prepared to spend much of this trip in traffic. Hence the trip was not 9hrs as indicated & instead took 12hrs!!! Which stuffed up evening plans. The driver Frederick was great. Tour guide Alex was awesome, especially how he kept switching so easily between English & Spanish. What a hard task for him though to explain everything in both languages. Surprised it wasn’t two trips to save him this task (especially as trip says limit of 30 and I feel like there was more than 30on the bus, but I could be wrong as I didn’t count). Definitely worth reading the Freida info that they send you beforehand for background. Enjoyed this part of trip. Buffet lunch was good, although there are many food options around if you didn’t want lunch option. The university was a waste of time in my eyes. Xochimilca was interesting, be prepared for vendors to keep jumping on your boat to sell you things. Great place for a partying & drinking vibe if that’s what you are in to.

Our guides Alex and Fernanda were very funny and helpful. Our driver Francisco was very safe navigating the Mexico traffic.

The guides Alex, Fernanda and our driver Frederic were excellent the whole day. We had great information and it was well organised. The Freda kahla museum was a must if you like her art and the boat ride were a great end of the trip. It’s a long day mostly due to the Mexico City traffic so bring snacks and drinks 😃 Would recommend highly!

This trip was VERY disappointing! Viator said my boyfriend and I would be going to both The Casa Kahlo AND Frida House in writing and I purchased the “Full Frida Experience “ option. When we arrived that morning , early, the tour operator told us that none of us on the tour would be going to Friday House (Casa Azul) and would instead just be going to the new Friday family museum. This is not what we paid for! The tickets are sold out for weeks so there was no way for us to get in. I waited my whole adult life to go to her house . I am a painter too. I am very sad, and Viator just told me that it was my fault that I chose the wrong package. I have proof that it said I would be going to BOTH museums! I am very upset. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly . He was the only good part of this loooooong, dissapointing day. Everyone on our bus thought that they had purchased the package to Casa Azul as well, therefore it was a bus full of extremely mad, dissapointing people complaining about Viator the whole trip. Make sure you see which package you are selecting… although I looked and I was deceived!!!! Do not purchase this but rather go online and buy the Casa Azul tickets directly from the museum far in advance!!!

Was overall a good trip but with difficulties. There was only one tour guide for English and Spanish speakers. It should have been 2 separate tours. This meant less interaction and double the work from the poor guide. Who was a great guy who really worked to make things right. The locations were good but too much time at the university as everything had to be explained twice. Don’t get the lunch. Drinks are not included. It’s a set meal and you can get better from street vendors. No real options for vegetarians. I hilariously fell through my chair. I’m not that big a guy. Just a cheap chair. No apology or replacement coffee which I had just bought and was now wearing. I would do the offenda and boat night time tour instead. Take a day to visit Couyacan by yourself

We had a wonderful experience on this tour! It’s a large-group tour on a very comfortable coach bus, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Our bilingual guide, Rodrigo, was phenomenal. He translated every sentence perfectly, with patience and clarity, and made sure everyone felt included and informed. We did have a small ticket issue at the Frida Kahlo Museum, but Rodrigo handled it with so much professionalism. He encouraged us to enjoy the area while he resolved it, kept communication open, and notified us personally the moment he secured our access. Truly above-and-beyond service! His explanations of the murals and historic sites were engaging and insightful, and he was a fantastic timekeeper while still making sure we felt relaxed and enjoyed the experience. The tour group was a little large for our personal preference—smaller would feel more intimate—but the value was absolutely worth it. And the included restaurant was excellent! A delicious buffet with plenty of great options—not the typical “tour lunch” disappointment. The tour did go longer than expected, but they communicated this clearly in advance so everyone knew what to expect. Highly recommend this tour—and especially Rodrigo! He made the day unforgettable. 🌟

Our guide Hector was very well informed and made an effort to recount the history of the ancient Mexico in detail. He spoke too quickly for us to catch all the information and his accent also made it difficult to understand. The tour got off to a slow start at a silver factory that was not listed on the tour program and was a waste of time. The day overall was enjoyable, the sites were very worthwhile. Our group was much larger than had been advertised and the tour lacked organization. Nice people, but a little chaotic.

Average tour. Lots of wasted time in group organization and traffic. DO NOT buy anything from the silver / metallurgy store they take you to; my friend bought one of their rings for almost $100 and it turned out to be a cheap fake. Also, one of their earlier tour guides had used some of our Frida museum tickets so we had a wait almost an hour before they sorted it out and some people on our tour didn’t end up getting in even though they paid. In summary, it’s a tour that takes you around to a lot of places for a reasonable price, but you’re going to spend an entire day and be disappointed at times. I’d recommend just doing your own thing using the internet as a guide.
