A great historical park with lots of activities. Love the theme and all food they serve here. We will be back in the future

Outstanding history of Calgary Museum and experience. Great value for money, and would advise anyone to go. Great for adults, kids, grandparents. Disabled friendly, lots to do, excellent staff. Cannot praise it more.

We needed to kill some time after Banff in Calgary before our flight left. My husband and I spent about 4 hours in Heritage Park, and really enjoyed iti! If you want to experience life 100 years ago or so, this was really fascinating! I loved the train ride, being able to see the inside of the old train cars, and especially Main Street that was set up like a town from the 1920s. Even authentic horse manure in the streets:). It was fun seeing the kids on the old carnival rides, we rode the big swing and ferris wheel. It is a big park and although they have train and horse and buggy rides around, it is a lot of walking. Good food choices and treats. The workers were knowledgeable about their craft.

Large park with many exhibits recalling the history of the Canadian West. including the indigenous encampment, fur trading industry, fort establishment, building of the cross-country railway, settlement, sternwheeler era, early pioneers and farming / ranching, A step back in time. Many exhibits had tour guides present to explain the artifacts and answer questions. Highly recommend it for the whole family.

Heritage Park is a pleasant venue to visit, as long as you are not using their parking facilities. We visited recently, and were presented a parking ticket for parking in their lot. As a tour operator, one lesson I learned long ago is that you NEVER ticket an out-of-town car when they are visiting! Perhaps a courtesy ticket woud have been a better choice. This is not condusive to encouraging future visits. As a tour operator, I will be recommending that my clients bypass Heritage Park, in favor of places that are more tourist friendly. And you should improve your signage at the lot to indicate that parking is not included in your pricey entrance fee.

After spending almost a week in Banff National Park, we had just one day to spend in Calgary, and I’m so very glad that we decided to go to Heritage Park for most of it. Being a train lover, I really enjoyed the train ride with the steam locomotive. One tip - while I don’t know if it is always this way, be aware that the train does not stop at every station on a trip around the park. But that wasn’t a problem because we had a nice rest on one of the many benches by the station. (We’re in our active 70’s, but pacing ourselves really helps.) My wife and her twin sister also really enjoyed the carousel and Ferris wheel, and the other “old-time” amusement park rides looked enjoyable as well. We had a wonderful lunch at the Wainwright Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed going through the various houses and other buildings throughout the grounds. We didn’t have time to go to the Gasoline Alley museum or ride the trolley at the front of the park, but who knows, maybe we’ll be in Calgary again some time!

Charming village setting of historical interest. The Gasoline Alley Museum had some beautifully restored automobiles and more old gas pumps than you could ask for. Plus, an operating steam locomotive.

Still a pretty good place to visit. However, it is seeing signs of a deteriation. Visited many times over the last 3 years. On any given day there seem to be several of the historical buildings/exhibits that are not open - even during the peak summer months. Not enough staff on the museum side? Also, it is a relatively rare day when the streetcar, steam train, and paddle wheeler are ALL running. The paddle wheeler has not been operating for a long time this year (since early July 2025 according to their wdbsite) and heard that there were days when all 3 were not operating! This last weekend, even the premiere food service building in the historical town square (Wainwright Hotel) was closed because of some sort of maintenance problem. Hope they can turn it around but the trend since COVID has been very concerning.

Visited this with my brother and was surprised with the variety of history offered. It was good to walk around seeing different properties etc. disappointed that the Steamer was not sailing and whilst going around a lot of the exhibits were closed so didn’t feel great value for money. Train was good, well staffed. Most staff were friendly and knowledgeable of their subject. Good ice cream job. Worth a visit

We went on a fairly rainy day so the place was relatively quiet. The staff were friendly and accommodating. There was lots to see and do there - our kids loved the mini midway.
