Calgary Essentials: 3-Hour Breathtaking City Discovery

Sammie was an awesome guide. Friendly and very knowledgeable. We had a great tour with him. Saw lots of Calgary and went up Calgary Towe.

Enjoyable tour. Could been better if the weather had cooperated. Calgary tower was excellent. Bridge on the river also beautiful.

The Driver was difficult to understand and did not seem particularly knowledgeable. One of our stops was the Library, which was not at all what I would have wanted to see on a sightseeing tour!

Unfortunately this was not a very good tour. The driver tried to give us a little history but minimal. Went to Peace Bridge that is under construction. Drive thru old area to see city across river. Went to Prince Island Park for 10 minutes. Went to new Library- that could have been a drive by. Going inside to hurry back to Van silly. The Tower was interesting. A lot of walking which some weren’t able to do. One tourist, I assume, sat in front seat with driver and they spoke to each other in foreign language. Van hard to get in and out of and no offer of step stool. Just all in all not that good.

Enjoyed the narrative from our guide and his enthusiasm - liked the Calgary Tower - really enjoyed the view of downtown Calgary from the overlook above the Bow River. We needed a bigger van, however, very difficult to get in and out of that small van.

The subject matter and stops on the tour were great. We were disappointed with the knowledge of the guide. He was also difficult to understand because of his native accent.

Unfortunately, it was not clear from the description that part of the tour had to be done on foot. This was not ideal for my husband! The planned duration of 45 minutes on the Calgary Tower was also too long, as here 20 minutes is sufficient Max 30. And it would be desirable if the guide is either a native speaker or knows English. This was not the case in our case, as he sometimes did not know the words and did not finish sentences!

Very informative and the guide was very friendly, caring and helpful as I have arthritis and he was worried about me going up and down steps Didn’t realise the main points were so close together We really enjoyed the time

Good. But just to educate him on how to support people that are disabled especially when coming down from the car.

We don't expect tour guides to be formal but this guide seemed very unprofessional and poorly prepared. He didn't seem to have a real script that he used, so the information he gave was random and there wasn't much unless he was responding to a question. At the Peace Park he referred to whomever had vandalized the park as drug crazed idiots seemingly unaware that there could be those in the group who had struggled with drug addiction themselves or had friends who did. Or his inference that those who take drugs are also engaged in vandalism. Anyway, it was just a lack of awareness for someone dealing with the public. Also, there was a surprising amount of walking on the tour as it wasn't advertised as a walking tour. I was not expecting to walk from the Calgary Tower to City Hall to the Library. I wasn't able to do it and returned to the hotel. Quite a disappointment as I was looking forward to seeing the library which my husband said was great. The walking and the guide combined made this a very disappointing experience. I do not recommend this. Save your money and do it on your own, you learn very little.
