Naples Culinary Secrets: Private 10-Taste Local Food Tour

Naples was one of the places that we originally didn't have a tour booked for our cruise so we decided to book this as we thought it would be neat to have someone who was familiar with the local food places. This tour did not disappoint! I know some reviews said it was a little pricey for the food but we got so much more out of it than that! Our guide (she was the sweetest but I for the life of me cannot remember her name :( ) gave us a great tour of the area and the history as well as some amazing food! She was very aware of the time and when we needed to get back on the boat as well as what our likes and dislikes were. I would definitely recommend this tour!

My husband and I decided to do the 10 tastings and had the privilege of having Renalto as our guide. Renalto was excellent. He was kind, caring, informative and very accommodating. Unfortunately, the tour was scheduled on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm when most eating establishments are closed or closing or the food isn’t as fresh. Renalto was able to find alternatives which reflected the diverse foods/drinks of Napoli. We were completely happy and satisfied, if not full, from the tour. We were able to walk all over the city and tried (not necessarily in this order) pizza margherita (and we had the opportunity to bake it ourselves), pizza frita, a cone of fried seafood, espresso, aperol spritz, cafe, pastries (baba rum, sfogatelle), limoncello, pasta ragu and genovese, and taralle. The tour was to be 3 hours but lasted a little longer. Renalto was on time and we enjoyed the tour immensely. We cannot recommend it enough except to consider a different day of the week or earlier, if it is a Sunday.

Tour was very good. The food stops could have been spaced more apart to allow for digestion of food. Maria the guide was very good and very friendly.

Learn some history, eat the food, and wear comfortable shoes. The guide also gives suggestions for places to eat during your trip.

Me and my husband had an amazing time in Naples for our honeymoon and this tour was one of our highlights! Excellent value for money, wonderful and friendly guide and naturally, delicious food. We got to see local attractions on our tour too and got some local history. By the time we said goodbye we were absolutely stuffed! The experience being private meant it was tailored to us as we went and introduced us to Gay Odin, which we promptly went back to the next day. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Miriam was a great tour guide. Perfect English and you felt like you were seeing city as a local would. Went to places that would not have gone as tourist. Not only food tour but a city tour. Fun to try different foods from a variety of locally owned small establishments. Took a 5 minute taxi ride from cruise ship port to where Miriam texted us to meet. City is very walkable. Enjoyable day!

Manu is excellent and gave us an authentic experience as we walked through Naples and ate some of the most Delicious food we’ve ever had!!! It was a nice paced tour and she gave us several options to decide what we would prefer along the way. We tried so many different amazing foods and wish we would not have eaten breakfast on the ship before we started the day. Manu was knowledgeable and shared many details about the history and architecture of the city along the way.

We had a good time but Naples is so busy and chaotic it took away from the experience. The food was good - pasta, pizza, mozzarella, fried dough, limoncello and wine. Plenty of food for dinner thats for sure!
