My parents, my almost 10 year old niece and I used this company for a private tour from Naples to Positano, Sorrento, and Pompeii. Our day was absolutely exceptional with both our driver, Diego, and our Pompeii guide, Marcello, who the company set us up with! They were both awesome! They both really exceeded my expectations! All of us said how wonderful they were! Diego, our driver, was so friendly, funny, and accommodating, and really ensured we had the best day! He even went out and got us schviadel while we were in our Pompeii tour. Marcello, our Pompeii guide, did a phenomenal job showing us around Pompeii, and accommodated my mom who doesn’t get around as fast as the rest of us. He was definitely an expert in archeology and very passionate about his work. Review of Amalfi Coast Tour with Mario Frenna @privatedrivernaples We were privileged to be guided on our sightseeing tour of the Amalfi Coast by Mario and Diego. They are co-owners of their small but superb business, and Mario’s mentor, Marcello, our guide for Pompei, is one of the finest archaeological guides in all of Italy. As a team, they are the best of the best. Diego was our attentive and skilled host for the day and had timed our itinerary to start as early as possible, beating the tourist traffic and maximizing the time available. Our party of four drove in the comfort of an air-conditioned and roomy Mercedes-Benz minivan, and Diego answered questions with a fount of interesting knowledge throughout the day. On the way to our first destination, we stopped briefly to take photographs of Sorrento and Positano in the early morning light from a distance. We arrived in Positano early in the morning, just as the shopkeepers, artists, and artisans were setting up for the day, and the mist over this magical place was beginning to clear. As we slowly descended the cobbled pathway to the beach, lined with buildings and walls, we gazed in admiration at the combinations of intense colours on every hand. Stunning architecture, art displays, and sculptures vied for our attention, alongside unique boutiques and tourist shops. Our hour there was just enough to make it to the beach for a few moments and get back to the top of the street with time for a bowl of delicious gelato. Next, we headed to Sorrento, where we arrived at 11:00, with another hour for wandering the streets and doing some shopping, before our reservations at 12:00 noon at a top Italian restaurant for lunch. There we selected our meals from a menu that included several fish dishes with fish and lobster caught that morning. The meal was a sensation of flavourful cuisine, prepared by skilled chefs, and finished off with small glasses of limoncello, an Italian liqueur, and a bowl of tiny cookies. We feasted like royalty! Our long-awaited visit to the city of Pompei was next, where we had reserved tickets with Marcello, our guide, and so much more. He shared with us secrets and stories about the ancient city, from the precise moment of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the early morning hours of October 24, 79 A.D. Under his skilled guidance, Marcello gave us a Masterclass on the life and times of the doomed citizens of Pompei and the Roman government they lived under. As though excavating the site, moment by moment, Marcello revealed more and more of the wonder of the ancient world and the place we saw frozen in time. We were privileged to learn from this maestro. At the end of the day, Diego deposited us back where we had started nine hours before. Without exception, we felt we had experienced a day to remember—not only the sights we had seen, but the team that had guided us will remain a special memory. We highly recommend Mario and Diego as a five-star tour team in every respect.

Diego was amazing. So knowledgeable, communicated well, polite, courteous, funny, personable (and most importantly, a very good driver with super clean vehicle). Pompeii tour guide Giovanna “Jo” was stellar! Exceeded our expectations in every way.

We had a blast with our tour guide and helped feed our hungry kids and took us to an amazing restaurant near Pompeii. We enjoyed all the stops. Our driver also helped us and arranged and guide for us in Rome who was also amazing. Picked us up and dropped us off on time!

We booked this tour as part of our vacation. This is our second time visiting. I had A LOT of reservations going back. We had an okay time the first time we went. Our biggest mistake was not choosing this experience our first time around. I cannot describe how incredible this was! Our driver, Maria, absolutely love her! If you can request Maria, definitely do it!! She made sure we had everything. She rearranged plans on the spot for us to make sure we did everything we wanted to and treated us like family. She’s amazing. We added on a private tour of Pompeii. Giovanna was our guide for Pompeii. She kept it interesting, asked us what was important to our family, and made sure we not only got to see it, but explained everything about it. Emanuele is the owner of the tour. He spent hours with me back and forth making sure we had all the information from pictures of exactly where we would get picked up to answering my hundreds of questions. If you’re going to choose a tour experience, choose this one!! We’ll be back and we’ll do this again!!

Great experience. Mario was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. The guide at Pompeii was also very knowledgeable, patient and friendly he know all the spots in Pompeii to get the most for our experience.

We learned so much just riding in cars with Mario and Diego –anecdotal stories about the region, the history and culture, and their own long family histories in the area. Being natives, we could feel how much they love the area. The Amalfi coast is not an easy area to navigate, and they do it with such ease and class. Even though they probably do it every day, they made you feel like your trip was unique. What they shared was intelligent, informed, didn’t feel like a cookie cutter tour. They really know the background of wherever you are and why they’ve chosen to guide you there. We used their services for a few different tours and transportation and couldn’t be more pleased or recommend them highly enough.
