Savor Bologna's Secrets: Unforgettable Walking Food Tour
On our Secret Food Tour Bologna: we'll provide you with an unforgettable taste experience. We'll start with a traditional welcoming sweet. Then, we'll visit one of the oldest Salumeria of the city to learn more about the local meat products and the famous pastas. You'll enjoy: Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, Mortadella di Bologna and many more regional cold cuts in the oldest Osteria in the world with a glass of our local wine. Next we have planned a taste of fresh, handmade pasta made just for us at a local Trattoria, always with a glass of local wine (and a coffee, if you like it) Then we will visit the main local food market, called Quadrilatero, and we'll enjoy a tasting of different types of balsamic vinegar from Modena (8-12-25 years of aging) to discover how this amazing tradition is still deeply rooted in this region. Please note that we are not able to offer any gluten-free or vegan option yet.

Our guide,Claire, was terrific. We not only learned about the food but she also told us about the city as well. Come hungry. We ate throughout the tour and tasted the food that Bologna and the nearby regions are known for. The tour finished with gelato. Need I say more?

My husband and I were fortunate to have Matthew as our guide and we were glad that we purchased this tour. We saw beautiful and unique Bologna. We tasted wonderful food. And we learned so much from Matthew.

Had a wonderful time on this food tour. Our guide, Claire, paced things just right and we walked away with a great perspective of the local food scene and the region’s significance as a food center within Italy. Loved seeing all the artisanal food shops and the foods we sampled. Highly recommend this tour! Grazie mille, Claire!

Mattia was phenomenal. Everything was just fantastic. If you are contemplating it just do it! Each of the locations were picked expertly to showcase the original offerings of Bologna. I don't want to spoil any of the stops but you are never walking for more than about 10minutes between each one which honestly was perfect after each of the samples! Along the journey Mattia shared history and architecture of Bologna which really showed his passion. The value of the tour is easily made up, and Mattia was lovely enough to stick around a bit at the end so we could ask more questions and get some fantastic suggestions for the rest of our stay. I did however forget to ask the best place to get wine! Thank you Mattia for sharing part of your beautiful city!

Do not have enough good things to say about the experience. It was very well done only made better by our guide, Claire! Her energy and engagement was outstanding. We’ve done a significant number of Viator tours and we would put Claire at the top of the list. As for the tour, the vendors were very accommodating and the food selections were excellent! Would highly recommend!!

This tour was exactly what we needed on our first day in Bologna. Lots of good food tasting and local knowledge for introduction to the city. Our guide Claire was fantastic and all had a great welcome.

My tour guide was Federica, she was a great host and is really knowledgeable about the history of the Bologna region. Our group gelled really well and had a great rapport on the tour. Federica is easy to talk with and kept the tour so interesting I didn't notice that 3 hours went by so fast. I would recommend 100%.
