The tour was a joy! Alex made it extra special. He speaks perfect english and grew up in the area so his knowledge is impeccable. I tend to extensively research areas before I visit, yet Alex really impressed me with information I hadn’t read. The history Alex shared brought the scenic views, palaces, beaches and gardens to life! Alex didn’t just drive from one location to another, he weaved a story of Portugal history and I would do the tour all over again!!

We arrived in Sintra with no clear plans and minimal time. We met Luis by pure luck and he took us to the Pena Castle and stopped along the way to give us wonderful history stories. He even took the time to show us Cork trees and eucalyptus trees, as well as other nature tips. He also showed us the Moorish Castle and told us of the many famous people who have stayed in Sintra. In addition he took us to a nice cafe for traditional Sintra sweets and a light lunch. He could not have been more helpful or nice!

Our tour guide Tomas Silva was amazing, kind, fun, and extremely knowledgeable! Our group included ages 4 months to over 70, English and Vietnamese speaking. Tomas showed us so much of Lisbon in the 2-3 days he spent with us. He would rearrange the tour to give us more access with less crowds so we could see the most, made us recommendations then reservations for great food. We were in 2 different buses that were both very comfortable, the drivers were wonderful, navigating the narrow streets with ease. I highly recommend WonderVan tours.

Alex and John picked us up at our apartment and took us to Sintra. Alex was very friendly and gave us a lot of information and patiently answered our questions.. our bus was very good.. and he made our tour one of the best ones we have done so far. We visited Sintra- Pena palace, Quinta da Regelaria ( which was a last minute addition) and then Cabo da Roca.. and finally he dropped us off at Cascais. We were happy to be able to do so many things and not be rushed!
