Portland's Underground Donut Odyssey: A Sweet, Secret Journey

The donut selections were amazing. Not our normal picks, and it really surprised us how good these local donut shops are at their craft. Eric was phenomenal as a guide during the walk. He showed us hidden gems and has such a great spirit.

Delicious donuts and a bit of history along the way. Really a fun tour. Would recommend. Kayla was a wonderful guide and really knows her donut shops around Portland.

This was our third time on the Portland Donut Tour, bringing different friends and family (gen X to older teens) each time. It’s a great way to get a basic walking tour of that part of the city, and try sone delicious and unusual (but still delicious) donuts! (And coffee!) I’d love to see new options in other parts of town.

Having never been to Portland, I thought a Sunday morning donut tour would be a great way to meet the city. We met Beau at Sesame donuts and quickly realized we were also going to learn some history, mystery as well as patisserie! We sampled at four shops but for me the best was Voodoo. And by the way, I was not hungry again all day until 6!

This downtown Portland donut and history tour was the highlight of our trip! From the first bite to the final story, everything was fun, informative, and delicious. Our guide, Kayla, was a total gem — incredibly knowledgeable about Portland’s quirky and colorful history, and hilariously entertaining the whole way through. The donut stops were perfectly chosen, with a great mix of iconic and lesser-known spots. We sampled everything from classics to wildly creative flavors — and Kayla gave us the scoop on what made each place unique. If you love food, fun, and a little local weirdness, this tour is a must. Just make sure you come hungry — and ready to laugh. Kayla is the kind of guide who makes you wish every tour was this much fun!

My 14-year-old daughter and I had a great time today on the Portland Delicious Donut Adventure and Walking Food Tour! Eric, our guide, led us on a terrific tour that featured four donut shops and many Portland landmarks along the way! The other family in our tour group included two girls ten and younger who seemed to have a great time, so I can recommend this tour for kids of all ages!

This was a fun way to see a bit of Portland and overdose on donuts! Our guide Kayla was friendly and knowledgeable. We tried so many different donuts. Yes.. Voodoo is on the tour but wasn’t my favorite. Although not having to wait in line and having donuts brought to us to try was a huge bonus. We’ve done this in a few places and it’s a great experience. Make sure to go hungry!

Overall a good experience. The end of the walking tour is far from the beginning of the tour , at least a 20-25 minute walk. Wish that they had mentioned that ahead of time for time management. Overall a fun and informative tour.

I arranged this experience for my kids, knowing that Portland is famous for its donuts, particularly Voodoo Doughnuts, which is a highlight of this tour. We skipped breakfast, anticipating a delightful donut tasting. I didn’t believe those sweet treats would fill us up, but this experience certainly proved me wrong.

Great Portland experience to learn more about the city and sample some delicious donuts. Our guide Kayla was fantastic and shared lots of recommendations for places to visit in Portland along the tour.
