Mont Saint Michel: Exclusive Abbey & Breathtaking Island Journey

A long day down and back to the Abby - 8hrs on a bus. 4hrs at the Abbey. Be prepared for the 300 steps up to the top. If you’re not very fit it might not be for you. The paths are narrow and steep and there’s so many people - some with dogs and there’s kids everywhere too in front of you and behind. After an hour I felt like one of the prisoners they use to hold there.. wanting to escape! There’s 2 or 3 shuttle buses that hold about 70 people and a line of about 600 trying to get on in the rain. It’s another classic example of go once and never again!

Great experience and worth visiting this long awaited heritage spot from my wishlist! Awesome views, nice weather, scrumptious food, lovely souvenirs and comfortable ride, what else could I have expected from this trip!!

I realize the conditions make this experience challenging - namely the long drive and the short time on the island. For those who cannot see msm any other way because of logistics, but are interested, I would definitely recommend this trip but make sure to go with the guided option unless you are familiar with what you are looking for in the abbey. For me it was the guide’s stories that let me enjoy my time there, needing only an hour to cover it all. She was very knowledgeable about the subject. The only suggestion I have for the operators is when getting off the shuttle I lost the guide briefly in the crowds not knowing if I should wait or rush forward, so anything that could be done to make sure people can find the guide after the shuttle would be great

Mont Saint Michel is breath taking! Such a wonder and beauty. It was even better to see in person. It was a bucket list dream for me which did not disappoint. It is worth the long trip in the bus. Amelia is a wonderful guide. She is so full of knowledge and is very engaging. I learnt so much about the history of Normandy and Mont Saint Michel from her. The guided tour is a must! It is so worth it. Amelia walks you through every part of Mont Saint Michel and explains all the different rooms and the history which I found so helpful. Amelia makes the day run seamlessly.

It was a long day, but worth the day trip, especially with the driver and the tour guide Marissa. Very professional very efficient and very well informed. Thought I really got the feel for the place with the knowledge.

St Michel is an amazing place and our guide did a wonderful job. I recommend this tour with the caveat that you should be prepared for a long bus ride. If traffic is good, it’s 4 hours each way with a bathroom break in the middle. (Bring a book). Our home trip lasted 5 hours because a stretch of the highway was closed. It’s not a trip I would do again, but we’re glad we did it once.

Long drive to the destination with limited time while there. Mont st Michel is stunning. The guide could have been clearer in her diction, it was challenging to comprehend at times. However, she addressed all our questions patiently.

Convenient way to travel to Mont St Michel from Paris. Our hotel is just a few hundred feet from the pick-up and drop off point.
