Cherokee Museum: Unvergessliche Kulturreise Nordamerikas!

Das Museum ist sehr informativ. Zunächst über die Entwicklung aller indigenen Völker Nordamerikas und anschließend dem Volk der Cherokee. Ein weiterer Teil informiert über das Schicksal der Cherokee seit dem Eintreffen der ersten Siedler bis zur Vertreibung und Verbleib der Stämme. Abschließend wird noch zur Schrift und den Gebräuchen im heutigen Stammesgebiet informiert. Ein Besuch ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Interesting museum that seemed to be in constant updating/renovations. Bit confusing with very difficult to read small print, poorly located placards. Most of the exhibits appeared to be from current artists so not historic. We expected more and hopefully they will continue to enhance. There was a docent at the end with a small group, but we did not know if we could have joined or if it was offered. Good history lessons of the plight and struggles of the Cherokee people.

The Museum is excellent. It is very informative, if you take the tour, the guide is amazing. Going on your own is faster but your questions won't be answered. I would definitely go again!

This was a lovely, thoughtful museum. I felt that they addressed the history and struggle between the Cherokee nation and European settlers. The Sovereignty exhibit was one of my favorite parts. Is a stop I would highly recommend!

We enjoyed doing the tour at the museum and learned a lot about Cherokee Indians origination in the US and their impact on our culture.

The museum is under renovation with many missing and incomplete exhibits. A worthy endeavor but not a complete experience worth the high admission price.

The museum is very dimly lite making it hard to read the graphic and the time period plates denoting the eras, for example, The Woodland Era, etc. With the exception of the canoe, it seemed like all the artifacts were replicas with displays of current pottery made by the Cherokee. According to a plaque, the reason authentic artifacts are not shown is "for the health and well being" of the Cherokee. Lastly, don't bother going into the Gift Shop. All the items I saw were "Made in China", One would think that the Gift Shop would be selling crafts made by the Cherokee.
