Eine fantastische Tour durch die Altstadt von Dhaka. Fremdenführer Nazmul integrierte die bekannten Attraktionen, aber auch Orte, an denen an diesem Tag gerade etwas los war. Wir begannen mit dem Tag der offenen Tür der Universität Dhaka, wo es Lehrräume der Kunstfakultät zu besichtigen gab. Spontan wurden wir von Studenten eingeladen, ihr Studentenwohnheim zu besuchen, ein Einblick in die Studienbedingungen, den man ohne Guide und vor allem ohne Nazmul nicht erhält. Die Spuren der Revolution in Bangladesch im August 2024 waren in der Universität noch sichtbar. Weiter ging es mit Rickscha und zu Fuß zu einer Moschee, mehreren Denkmälern zur Geschichte Bangladeschs, einem Hindutempel und dann hinein in die bunte, laute, aufs Erste einschüchternde Welt der Altstadt von Dhaka. Nazmuls Wissen ist umfassend und er wusste auch über die Lebensumstände und Traditionen von Bangladesch in sehr gutem Englisch zu informieren. Seine Freundlichkeit und Untehmungslust empfehlen ihn, wenn man als Besucher den Wunsch hat, besondere Orte, zum Beispiel eine Textilfabrik zu besuchen. Nach einem Imbiss in einer Konditorei und Reis-Biryani ging es aufs Boot, besser gesagt auf das Floß hinüber auf die andere Flussseite, auf der Schiffe abgewrackt werden. Nichts für schwache Nerven! Den Abschluss der Tour bildet eigentlich das Achsan Manzil (Pink Palace), aber Nazmul stieg kurzerhand auf eine Pferdekutsche bis zum Beit Al Mokarram. Diese Tour ist jeden Euro wert. Ohne einen Fremdenführer würde man nicht die Hälfte sehen und so gut wie nichts verstehen.

I joined the Old Dhaka tour and was truly impressed by the city’s vibrant chaos and incredible energy. The sheer movement of people reminded me why Dhaka is known as the most densely populated city in the world — yet rather than feeling overwhelming, it was inspiring. The streets were alive with activity, from the bustling markets to the colorful street stalls, and I could really feel the pulse of the city. Riding a rickshaw and CNG was an exciting and unforgettable experience, giving me a real taste of local life. It was a long and exhausting day, but also one of the most fulfilling experiences of my entire trip. Our guide, Dapi, was wonderful — knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate. He explained the exhibits at the museum in great detail and even took us to a popular local sweets shop which I truly appreciated. My time in Old Dhaka has become one of the most memorable highlights of my travels. Thank you so much for such an incredible experience!

I would highly recommend the Old Dhaka City Tour for anyone who is interested in visiting Dhaka. My guide Bappi was a friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable guy who takes good care of tourists. The tour itself gives you an insight into Old Dhaka that you'd never be able to get travelling on your own and would have taken me at least 3 days to achieve alone. This point I can't stress enough, and is why this tour really is a must. The tour will take you through the chaotic traffic of Dhaka to historic sites such as the Lalbagh Fort, the Ahsan Manzil museum and the Armenian church among other sites. The tour also brings you to popular local restaurants. For those of you with sensitive stomachs like myself, there is no need to be worried as the food was delicious and I had no ill effects. The local Biryani was fantastic and is a must try. Dhaka itself is a BUSY city and the traffic is not for the feint hearted. However, this adds to the character of the city which really shines when going down the streets of old Dhaka. The people are very friendly and curious, so don't be surprised if the locals wish to take a photo with you. A great a experience in a unique place.

I am proud to say that Bangaladesh is 110 county I am visiting from map of the world . To be honest this the most wonderful tour and got unique experiences of Dhaka and also other area of Bangladesh. I booked this tour via trip advisor as usual and Bappi sent a message by WhatsApp that gives me confidence as a solo traveller and also I heard bad news abut Bangaladesh was very anxious to visit . Bappi was able to proved me that tour is safe and nothing to worry about . He picked me from my hotel and. We walked , we talked a lot about history culture and visited many many places including Flower market,Dhaka universities reminding my past , Hindu national temple leaning about god Siva ,goddess Durga and there there children , Lalbagh Fort , Armenian church, Ahsan Manzil, Mosques, Sadatght boat ride going along the river listing to lovely music ,I never ever forget this tour in my life time. Bappi can read my mind and he exactly knew what I like to watch when was the right time to drink and eat and we used number of rickshaws to finish our journey and had delicious local snacks , world famous. Biryani very testy coconut drinks on our way Bappi makes you feel safe and without Bappi I would not be able to complete this tour with much fun. Great day old city tour in Dhaka. Bappi, my guide, organized pick-up at my hotel and we spent great day walking around and driving in ricksha. He is from Dhaka, loves his city and he is excellent and knowledgeable guide. We had long talks about everything and he gave me good overview of history, but as well present Dhaka and Bangladesh.
