Transit-Wunder San Salvador: Stadt & Vulkan-Entdeckung!

We had a great experience with this tour company. They were quick to respond to our emails and flexible in adjusting the itinerary as needed. Communication was strong throughout—we received all the important details ahead of time, including a call from the tour guide, which made us feel reassured, especially since we had a tight layover and had to return to the airport promptly. The tour was private and perfectly coordinated. Our guide was waiting for us and the car arrived quickly. The ride was smooth, safe, fast, and comfortable. The guide was very knowledgeable about El Salvador’s history, culture, and local life, and he was also entertaining and easy to talk to. His English was excellent, which made a big difference, especially after past experiences with other tour companies where language was a barrier. We visited all the planned stops without delays (El Boqueron and The Picnic), took great photos and videos, and appreciated how the tour adapted to our pace. The drop-off at Picnic SteakHouse to see the rainbow slide was a fun bonus, and we enjoyed learning not just about the volcano El Boqueron which we visited, but others nearby too. The vehicle was clean and payment was easy—we could use a credit card in USD, which was convenient. In just five hours, we gained a deep and personal insight into the country and even got some pretty souvenirs. We never had to wait, and the car was always close to entrances and exits. Overall, a fantastic tour experience that we would recommend to anyone wanting a fast, safe, affordable, and meaningful experience in their layover in El Salvador.

Great tour! I had a 10-hour layover and wanted to see the sights of San Salvador and the archaeological site of Mayan ruins. We had an amazing time with Miguel and Estefany. We got picked up on time and driven in a well air conditioned car around the places we would’ve unlikely found ourselves. They both were very welcoming. Estefany was the main guide, her English was perfect, she was very knowledgeable about the history, the culture, and the places we visited. We got to experience local coffee shop, had pupusas with the amazing views, walked around the center of the city, as well as local streets, and visited one of the big parks. We learned so much of the history and culture during our 7 hour layover that it made us want to return back again to San Salvador for more days. Thank you so much for making our layover such an unforgettable experience. You went above and beyond for us.

Guillermo is the best tour guide. Very consise in the tour information. Went to El Boqueron and the city center of San Salvador. Loved and enjoyed it!!! Highly recommended!!!

We had a great time during our layover in San Salvador. It was easy to find their kiosk in airport. Our names were very visible. We were quickly escorted through the immigration control. Our tour guide, Eduardo Díaz, met us on the other side and walked us to the car. Regular 4 door sedan was comfortable for 2 of us and our guide. During about 20 minutes drive to downtown, Eduardo told us about history and current political situation in the country. His English was very good. He is a university student who is knowledgeable passionate about what he does. We spent some time walking around downtown, visited some really interesting churches. Stopped in a wonderful coffee shop. No need to worry about changing money. US dollars is official curency. After that we went to very nice Volcanic Park. Nice easy hike, beautiful views. On the way back to airport Eduardo stopped by an amazing pupusa restaurant. Absolutely delicious! Eduardo would not allow us to pay for our meals. It was his treat. Off to airport. Easy through immigration and on the side plane with no problem. We only had 7 hours layover, because Avianca rescheduled our flight to Medellin. I wish we had more time. There are more things to see. We could not be happier with Eduardo Díaz and his driver. Highly recommend their services if you happened to be in San Salvador.
