Privat-Tour: Mahabalipuram ab Chennai – UNESCO & Küstenschätze

Die Tour dauerte ohne die Fahrzeit etwa 2h. Eine fachlich gute Führung durch einen lokalen Guide, der einem die meisten Straßenverkäufer abhält und die Eintrittskarten vorbereitet hat. Es hätten mehr Hintergrundgeschichten sein können. Angenehme Atmosphäre. Allerdings wird man leider auch hier in die Souvenirshops geführt. Die Verkäufer dort waren jetzt nicht besonders aufdringlich und haben sich bereits mit 3 Neins zufrieden gegeben. Für 110 Euro (Umgerechnet knapp 10.000 Rupien) ist das schon recht wenig was einem geboten wird. Allerdings ok, wenn man gar nicht mehr braucht. Außerdem ist der Abhol- und Bringservice sehr angenehm.

Diese Tour war wunderbar. Der Fahrer und die Führer waren kompetent. Ich muss auch die Crocodile Bank sehen.

Really enjoyed this tour, knowledgeable guides and safe drivers, at least as safe as one can be in India. Mahabalipuram is full of ancient history, astonishingly well preserved without any conservation or restoration in the last 1400 years. Definitely recommend!!

Wonderful tour of Mahabalipurum. Our guide, Rajesh, was friendly and informative. We appreciated him giving us extra time to take pictures at the sites. We didn’t feel rushed to get through everything quickly. He also told us lots of interesting details about the sites.

I had a great experience learning about the history of Mahabalipuram. Luckily the weather is just okay though it's the rainy season. I had 1 hr travelling time to go and another 1 hr to get back to my hotel; and 3 hrs to look at the places as mentioned in the itinerary. We didnt go to the lighthouse, we just passed by it. On top of that, lunch was great too.

Wonder arranged a great tour to see the carvings and monuments at Mahabalipuram coming from Chennai. The local guide was a delight, with excellent knowledge of the history of each of the monuments. Great day!!

Best tourist destination in South India—brought to life by experienced guides. My favorite unexpected tidbit: tiny white splotches of plaster from 14th century restoration and protection project. That’s what you’ll get with these guys.
